Hello, this my second time making a post regarding this. I did so a while back but, gave up on it after expending all resources I had available. I’m back and trying again now.
I have a humanoid model which I need to rig however, I do not think I can use the base templates provided by Blender due to the way the rig is constructed, it makes its highly implausible to parent and name the joints which fit into the conventions of Roblox provided in this hidden away document: Character Specifications | Documentation - Roblox Creator Hub.
I will now attempt to create my own rig for this, hopefully, it will work. I can import the models into studio the issue is the with the lousy animation editor. Anyone do this?
That wasn’t my question but, if I was able to, how would I go about parenting the bone structure and naming it? I would want to use advanced meta rig for humanoids so that I can have control over the hands but, I have no need for face bones, not to mention Roblox doesnt address them in nearly enough detail. The root and lower torso would be at 0,0,0 so where would the hrp be? at upper torso? Not to mention I’m not experienced with rigging so I don’t really know how I would get the IK and FK to work in regards to the parenting and hierarchy.
GOOD NEWS!!! I managed to get it work, approximately… Using a template armature made by roblox. Now, I need to figure out how to add additional bones such as hands to add more detail to the poorly done armature. (Can also confirm adding extra bones does not work. When I added the finger bones and stuff, the whole model just started having a seizure.) Im triggered now because I’ve found out mixamo animations work, but they dont follow the naming conventions or anything so I am just mad and annoyed rn. Decided to use the mixamo rig on my model and see if that works
YAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY IT WORKED!!!. Using mixamo’s rig and fitting it to match my model, it provided a suitable and accurate rig which works for Roblox’s humanoid animations. I will update this topic once again in regards to quadriceps and other types of rigs.
