Custom Rig's Top Bone Hierarchy Not Animating

  1. What do you want to achieve? Smooth animations for any custom rig I create in blender with bones.
  2. What is the issue? This screenshot is prior to adding the armature to the rig. However, the top of the hierarchy (LowerTorso) does not seem to follow animations when I make them in studio. Prior to this, I had a root bone, basically whatever the start of the hierarchy bone is will move the entire rig in the animation tool but when the animation plays in-game, that bone stays completely still and will not move and causes deformations.
  3. What solutions have you tried so far? I found one other thread with this issue but with no solution. The first bone in a custom rig's armature does not animate
I’ve reboned the rig many times and still can not get the bone to move when actually animating. So any kind of twisting motion, up or down motion, it simply will not animate regardless of if I have it keyframed.

I’ve changed my game’s entire character system to skinned meshes instead of traditional and I really want to get this working so I can move on from my customization system.

If any more information is needed to help me out, please let me know as I’ve been stuck on this for quite some time now.

While I don’t have an EXACT solution for this, which I apologize for in advance, a couple solutions I might know are to either: Add a rootpart or some sort of other root, which I believe you may have already used. Or said rootpart is not big enough.
(You said it caused deformations beforehand, if you could elaborate on how your rig works when it DOES have a rootpart, that would be nice.)

Most I can make out of the top bone not animating is just that you need something to make IT animateable instead. (Refer to aforementioned rootpart.) If you still need help, let me know.
