Dance World Competition Update

Dance World Competition Update

Hey everyone,

Today we’re releasing the Competition Update , a major new gameplay system for Dance World.

Players can now join structured competitions with themed rounds, preparation time, individual performances, 1–5 star voting, placements, and Competition Coin rewards.

A lot of the work behind this update focused on making the system reliable in live Roblox servers. Competition state is handled server-side, with validated RemoteEvent communication for voting, rewards, and round progression. We also added better handling for disconnects, character resets, invalid contestants, and repeated rounds so one player leaving doesn’t break the entire competition.

The UI was also heavily optimized for mobile (our main user platform), including responsive positioning, CoreGui/backpack avoidance, improved touch targets, cleaner voting controls, and better scaling across different viewport sizes.

Other improvements include:

  • Longer performance time
  • Cleaner contestant transitions
  • Server-authoritative scoring and rewards
  • Theme Picker support
  • Competition Coins
  • VIP coin bonuses
  • Better round cleanup
  • Reduced duplicate timers and UI
  • Improved client/server synchronization
  • General bug fixes and polish

This update also gives us a stronger base for future systems like competition XP, levels, statistics, seasonal events, leaderboards, rare themes, and tournament-style rounds.

The Competition Update is live now.

Thanks to everyone who tested it and reported issues throughout development.
