Deltashock 2.0’s first public release is here!

This public alpha branch is a work-in-progress version that is subject to change before final release. Expect it to be highly volatile!
We recommend you submit bugs or suggestions in our chat server. Anything helps!


The only available mode currently is Team Deathmatch, using random spawns on a procedural map.
At this time, content such as weapons and items is limited but will soon be expanded upon in periodic updates!

Gunplay

  • Over-the-shoulder camera when using guns
  • Custom keyframed animations for reloading, shooting, equipping, etc.
  • Reloading
    • Auto-reloading for all guns
  • Shooting
    • Low ammo indication: visual and auditory
      • Clicking sound each time you fire as you reach low ammo
    • True bolting functionality for bolt-type weapons
    • High-fidelity chamber/shell effects
    • Accuracy settings have been overhauled to reward skillful players
    • Damage falloff over long distances
    • Weapons are now projectile-based, rather than hitscan
      • Drop-off is dependent on weapon caliber
    • Aiming
      • Sniper scope effects
      • Different crosshairs for different weapon types
  • Damage
    • Taking damage will now give audiovisual indicators to the player, such as screen shake, blood splatters, and a direction indicator
    • Faded color palette and additional sounds at critical health
  • Suppression
    • Getting shot at or hit will suppress you, reducing your build speed and giving you a vignette effect
  • Crouching
  • Loadout system
    • On the deploy screen, pick LOADOUT to pick a primary, secondary, support item, and two gadgets
    • Customize your character under your player model

Building

  • The building system has been entirely revamped
  • Now three categories for building objects: Blocks, Utility, and Props:
    • Blocks: simple shapes that allow for versatile construction
      • Cubes
      • Wedges
      • Stairs
      • Corners/Inverse Corners
      • Half Block
    • Utility: purposeful, mechanical objects that can be interacted with, such as lights and doors
    • Props: decorative objects that enhance the look of your structures
  • New building menu
    - Search bar
    - Middle mouse-click in the menu to favorite a building object
    - Color and material picker for Blocks
  • Build Buddies
    - Add teammates as a Build Buddy through the in-game leaderboard
    - Adding someone as a Build Buddy gives them access to your builds, letting them delete objects that you’ve placed down
    • Destroy tool
      • Destroys builds that you have access to
      • Digs terrain
  • Over 300 buildable objects to choose from
  • Use Z to see the info of any block you hover over

Misc.

  • Player customization
    • Pick cosmetics like headgear, face wear, vests, uniforms, etc.
    • Change face or skin color
  • Comprehensive UI/HUD overhaul
    • See relevant keybinds on the right side of your screen in gameplay
      • All UI elements subject to change
  • Deploy screen
    • Pick your spawn point in a birds-eye view of the map
      • (At the moment, this functionality is limited)
  • Footstep sounds per material, synced to animation runtime

    • Sprinting, walking, strafing, etc.
  • The long-awaited ammo crate has been added!
    • Teammates can refill from a placed ammo box

    • New frag grenade which deals massive area-of-effect damage

    • Press Tab to activate the leaderboard and see the kills, deaths, and scores of you and other players or manage Build Buddies and squadmates
  • Squad system
    • Invite up to 4 other players to join your squad
    • See their location and health
  • Ragdoll overhaul
  • Explosions
    • Custom explosions have been added
      • Immersive camera shaking
      • Explosions affect surrounding terrain
  • Killfeed
    • See who killed who during a match
  • Death screen
    • Who killed you, with what, and from how far

Known Issues

  • Tracers spawn on eyes instead of gun barrel
  • Ragdoll joints sometimes break or stretch
  • Tracers/trails do not replicate
  • Reload sounds do not replicate
  • FOV will stay zoomed in on next spawn if you died while aiming in (ADS again to fix)
  • Very, very janky mobile support
  • Chat overlaps loadout menu
  • Muzzle flash lighting does not replicate
  • Guns are NOT balanced but will be in a future patch
  • Damage indicator follows the torso direction, not the camera
  • Other players’ ragdolls don’t show if they reset
  • Look-to-mouse will be added back in soon
