I really like how Roblox allowed users to add feedback comments with a thumb up or thumb down, however I think this should be mandatory (Similar to platforms like Steam).
While it is optional, the percentage of players that actually leave a comment is extremely small and therefore small developers like myself don’t receive any feedback at all other than those naked thumbs up/down ratings.
Not everyone has feedback to leave, forcing people to leave feedback would probably get you a whole lot more of “this game is good” or “this game is horrible”, and thats it.
People will leave feedback if they want to leave it.
If someone is unable to spend 10 seconds writing the reason they like or dislike a game then I don’t think their verdict should go towards giving the game an overall score.
Even comments like “TOO HARD” or “FIX LAG” or “BORING” would give a developer some idea as to why a game is being thumbed down.
I think it’s more that people are too lazy to write feedback when they don’t need to. I was working on a game a couple of months ago that received around 75% approval rating in 100 votes but not a single person wrote feedback.
Welcome to any platform that has a lot of kids. They dont care about giving feedback, they just want to play games.
I can see why it would be annoying to get feedback, but forcing people to give feedback probably isnt the way to go. Users should want to give feedback, if I was forced to leave a review, then I would just not give feedback, of which means you dont get likes and blah blah I think you get the point.
Anyhow yeah, I just think its unnecessary and players should be able to choose whether or not they give feedback.
