I don’t know why but when I changed my display name on my Roblox account and my avatar, it didn’t update the devforum account here. I don’t know if this has been updated because it happened before the major devforum update from early May. The only method to update your devforum account is to log out and log back in. I don’t want to keep doing that when I update my Roblox account because then I will eventually forget the password and I will not know how to log back into the forum. So Developer Forum accounts should be automatically updated if user changes username or display name or avatar because then we don’t have to log out and log back into our accounts just for it to update. It needs to automatically update the accounts. If this is added, this would improve the experience on here for all users.
Forgetting your password is kinda a you problem.
Personally I prefer that it doesnt automatically update. As this place is a good place to get hired, and do other professional things, just for you to change your avatar to some silly meme and look silly here, not ideal lol.
That and its been said in the past they have no reason to change it. If the issue is cause you cant be bothered to remember your password, well just be like everyone else and remember the password 
write it down on paper, come up with a way to memorize it, etc. Not being able to remember you passwords in general is just bad.
Anyhow thus concludes my reasoning on why this shouldnt be a feature, its unnecessary.
I wouldn’t say that this case affects many users or causes damage or smth, I see it more like a general recommendation… it’s just a personal inconvenience rather than a technical or systemic issue…
I still don’t understand how forgetting a password justifies such automatic features… I also think that those users who are unable to go through a basic account recovery process, in which all they have to do is reset a password… Yeah they should have their presence questioned and/or their readiness to participate in a dev platform that requires a certain level of technical competence

I might be wrong, but in my experience your devforum profile DOES update every time you log in, meaning you should be able to log out of it and log back in for it to update.
They know, they were just saying its a pain to log out and back in cause they cant remember their password.
My guess is that this is all down to the fact that you integrate your roblox account with OAuth when you sign in to the forum (i could be wrong), which when you connect your Roblox Account, it just refreshes your avatar, profile and username (if changed) like how it does when you log into Guilded.
So unless Roblox decides to make it so it just signs you in automatically using a different protocol you’re just gonna have to deal with it unfortunately.
Also, you can just use the “Sign in with another device” instead of using the password everytime or just write it down…

Yes this is on our long-term wish list, but it never gets enough priority to be worked on compared to other projects, especially because the workaround is trivial (log out of forum and back in). Should only take you a couple of clicks.
It’s not on the roadmap at the moment. It may be worked on in the future if we ever find it becomes high enough priority compared to other projects, or if we end up being able to do it in some cheap way that doesn’t take a lot of engineering time.
This doesn’t make sense to me – you don’t need to log out of Roblox, just out of the devforum. Assuming you stay logged into roblox.com, there should be no need to pass the Roblox login screen.
If you don’t have access to your Roblox account that definitely seems like a bigger problem you need to look into!

Yeah we expect users to know their login credentials, I would recommend figuring out a way such that you can re-login if you need to.
I marked it as the solution to call out that we’re likely not going to be able to work on this in the near future.
I don’t want my profile to be automatically updated. Can there be a button instead if this ever does get added?

Then whats the point of forum features if a lot of the forum is because of the current function of Discourse?
