Developer Products do not work

Developer products don’t work in my game when I test them in the live game, but they work perfectly fine in Studio.

In the live game, I just get this error. The developer product belongs to a different experience, but Third Party Sales is enabled. Since it works in Studio, I don’t understand why it doesn’t work in the actual game.

Am I missing something, or is there another requirement for third-party developer products to work in a live experience?

Expected behavior

The product should be able to be purchased

Cross-Game sales between gamepasses and developer products were disabled in a recent update so unfortunately this is by design. You can view more here:

Hope that helps

As far as I know, third-party developer products aren’t supported in live experiences, even if Third Party Sales is enabled. Studio can behave differently and may not reflect the live behavior.

“Starting May 30, 2026, cross-game (cross-experience) developer product sales will be disabled.”

Strange. Would probably be worth linking the game in this bug report so it can be reviewed

I cannot replicate this issue

This is the game, for people who want to check it out. The “Become next” is the button that activates this developer product, even tho it happens to all the developer products in the game. I made it 2 robux for testing purposes.

If it happens to every developer product in game, it doesn’t seem like the issue with the specific developer product.
Try testing it in studio, and check if it works. Maybe developer console will show something while buying it?

Yep, in Roblox Studio it works perfectly fine.

Have you tried creating a brand new developer product and testing that one?

Well, this developer product right here is brand new, and right after this forum post the owner made a developer product under the game its hosted in, which is the one being used right now. And still the same issue sadly.

Hi, I noticed this was reported for a test universe, is the main universe experiencing the same issue?

Also, after creating developer products in the test universe, did you update the PromptProductPurchase in Studio to use the productIds for the newly created products?

Do you mind doing mine as well

Hello, i changed some of the coin developer products to belong to the test universe and they surprisingly work now! The “Become next” product also did belong to the game earlier, and didnt seem to work, but now it seems that it has been resolved, thanks!
