Read all of this, it is important as the spoilered part is how to set it up, and there is other important info!
UPDATE: Hey. it is me wetdev and if you are wondering where the models went, go here and edit the place in studio and extract the model manually: CART TESTIN - Roblox. If you are wondering why the models are gone, I deactivated my account(s) for personal reasons involving age-verification AI (not off-topic here, just giving more info about what happened to this project). and for some reason that caused the models to go down. This project has been discontinued. You are given permission to make your own BetterCarts V3, V4, and so on. Just remember to credit me, and make it free for any new game developers to use. This post will remain up.

Have you ever wanted to make a system like cart ride around nothings suspension system but cant find out how to? Well this can get you a similar cart, it is very smooth, and has suspension. Also I recommend setting gravity to 100 for best use.

Important note, must read.

Please use a StarterCharacter template using the normal default scale, since packages can mess with your characters Mass, Here is one you could use for example: https://create.roblox.com/store/asset/132334092502177/StarterCharacter. Make sure that you do not change the size and any accessories or details you add to the character are set to be massless, or else certain avatars can give certain advantages and or disadvantages.

How to use it is easy to figure out on your own, but if you don’t get it, here is how to!:

Step One: Place the cart model into your game alongside the rails model.

Step Two: Build the Rails off of the rail template by using plugins, you dont have to but it makes it way faster to build. I recommend the plugin shown after these steps (the current ones I use), but anything that can build smooth rails should work

Step Three: Place the Cart on the rails, make sure it is perfectly aligned or it will fall off.

Your on your own now! Feel free to tweak with and place boosters and other gadgets on your track as well as other customizations. Glad I could help! RAIL PACKAGE BELOW.

(from a later post) Also… we have one plugin we highly recommend (please credit it) here, https://create.roblox.com/store/asset/139433649507632/Sammys-BezierRails. we recommend setting base segment size to 0.25 (IN LENGTH) when creating tracks using this. Anyways, have a great day!

umm, do you have some rails to demo it in, in a .rbxl or open source , to see how the rails work… and can there be split rails like a Y to go in a different directions, and curved rails and such?

@Lord_BradyRocks yes soon in a day or two there will be a showcase place and place file, however i still need even more time than that to make support for rail merging and split paths, also it works amazingly with turns and banked turns, but don’t make them too sharp, also i recommend archimedes or gapfill to make smooth tracks, however i recommend making the track little by little if ur using gapfill to make it smooth. and if ur using archimedes, dont make it turn too sharply or the track will start to break or intersect with itself.

made a tiny quick update to the rails that improve the carts ability to drive on sharper turns, i also removed the seats collision so it wont mess up physics stuff.

are there long rails and turns now to check out?

or what is the rail system you are testing this on?

its now partially out via like the test place i initially replied to you with, its also UNCOPYLOCKED!

fixed a dangerous bug where when going backward going through a sharp turn that has guiderails, the carts body would flip upside down and remain in that position for the rest of the ride. also fixed another bug where the rear suspension would lock up sometimes

can u add a regen to for the cart on the left?

also how are you making your tracks?

and why in the script for the cart are these negative , - ?

OUTDATED MESSAGE, USE PLUGIN IN MAIN POST MESSAGE. Im using Archimedes with a bit of gapfill, also the reason for the values being negative is due to how the cart is structured, also uhh the cart on the left was a test for an older version i just forgot to delete it, sorry for the confusion.

Later i will post a vid on advanced track making, really for now thats enough info for you since i dont have lots of free time

ALSO this note is for everyone reading, not the person i just replied to but make sure gravity is set to 100 and you disable packages and also force r6 or r15 set on classic scale for it to work properly or else it may act weird with certain avatars.

also if ur planning to add decorations to the cart, MAKE SURE THE DECORATIONS ARE MASSLESS OR THE CARTS PHYSICS WILL BE ALTERED.

Keep at 100, but if u add deco make sure the deco is massless

Update: Fixed Self Collision with suspension parts, and turned off CanCollide for the suspension parts to ensure they wont cause problems with certain collisions. I highly recommend upgrading your cart version if you have not done so. To upgrade just use the standalone cart i linked further back
