I’m having an issue where my experiences are receiving 0 Home Recommendation / organic thumbnail impressions.
My previous experience, published about 3 months ago, stayed at exactly 0 impressions for more than a month. I contacted Roblox Support about it, and shortly after the support case, the impressions started working normally.
I have now published a new experience, and the same thing is happening again. It has been public for 4 days and still has exactly 0 Home Recommendation impressions.
The new experience is public, the Maturity & Compliance questionnaire is completed, and my account meets the publishing requirements. It has also received real players from YouTube and friend invites, but there have still been no Home Recommendation impressions.
I’m wondering if this could be an issue with my account, group, or experiences rather than normal cold-start behavior.
You aren’t going to get home recommendations if no one is playing your game. The only way to get people to start playing is by advertising. If this yields good metrics from players who enter this way, only then will you start getting home recs.
I advertised my previous game, but it stuck at 0 impressions for 1 months.. After I contacted support, it fixed. Same thing happening in my current game..
Dude, you have to understand it takes time once you get players home rec will start coming in. You wont get everything handed to you for doing nothing. The first step that i would do is ads or if you cannot. Post on social media.
It’s been 2 weeks and still stuck at 0. I tried everything including running ads, advertising in sns.. so some players came, but impressions is still exactly 0.. same thing happen in my previous game..
In the retrieval stage, the algo uses plays from all sources to understand what kinds of users enjoy your game. When there isn’t enough signal here, the game will not be retrieved.
You can improve retrieval by
running an ad campaign over multiple days (instead of for a single day), so the ad targeting can improve and get more users who will enjoy your game. generally, you should see this improved targeting show up as better ad performance (cheaper cost per play, better session time etc).
improving metrics from users who join from other sources like ads, by tracking their actions in onboarding funnels.
After retrieval, the game needs to have good Home Recommendation metrics to be grow and be ranked higher. For example, if your game is on someone’s homepage but ranked at the bottom, there’s a good chance that user will not scroll to the bottom, and the impression count will be 0.
In this case, this is not a bug so I will close it.
