Ditch Ctrl+W in Play Solo / Start Player

The typical controls for an FPS are ctrl to crouch and wasd to move. When trying to crouch and move forward, you press ctrl+w – this inconveniently prompts you to close the window in play solo, or outright closes the window in start player without any prompt. Every time I go to test out guns in Studio I end up pressing ctrl+w and it’s getting really annoying for instances to close / ask if they can close so frequently. Ctrl+W doesn’t serve a useful purpose and it’d be handy if it were disabled in Studio like it is in the Player.

On Mac, command + w closes the current window. It has been like that for years- and I believe Windows does this with other programs (CTRL + W)

If they disabled it for the ROBLOX client I’m certain they can do it for Studio. Yes, it’s a default, but defaults don’t always work out well and in this case it causes more harm than good.

CTRL + W will close the ROBLOX player for me. This is part of Windows and I am not sure if they can override it.

Are you sure that is the case? I just jumped into phantom forces and Ctrl+W didn’t close the ROBLOX client. Ctrl+W also doesn’t close out ShareX, Microsoft Office programs, any of my games (i.e. Warframe), etc, so there’s definitely a way to disable it.

In ROBLOX Studio, pressing CTRL+W will close the current page, just as in most browsers.
If you’re editing a script, it’ll close the script editor.
If you were on the game screen, it’ll close the current place.
(And if there are no places open in studio, but there is another studio running, studio closes)

Okay? It should still not happen when I’m testing the game with my character.
