Do I have too many UI animations?

My UI has 2 main types of animations:

  • Hover animations (whenever your mouse enter/leaves a GuiObject)
  • Press animations (whenever MouseButton1 is clicked down or up)

My question:

Are the UI animations with the MouseButton1 events, which you can see occur when the UIStroke gains or looses thickness, over doing it, or is it fine?

Note: Compressed video

If a UI stroke thickness isn’t 0 and you can see it, that means I was actively clicking down while hovering/scrolling

its cool but whats the actual point of having dev forums in a roblox game that they have to join to access, when the dev forum is already good enough unless they had micro transactions which would ruin this site

also not to mention that its not even grabbing posts from the actual dev forum site so i dont get it

if its just for fun ig it doesnt matter

Enough micro interactions, both are quick and responsive. Designer and developer will be happy at the bar, if not fully satisfied, by looking at it. Basically, yes; I, as a customer, like it.

Though one UX thing makes me bit furious. (actually quite nitpicky but i care about experience as in User eXperience)

…is the positioning(and scaling somewhat?) of the Main frame upon creating a topic. Maybe you can leave scaling out as it is, but I believe, when creating new topic, it shouldn’t necessarily close some of the content below. (Yes, default devforum does it, it’s just different here ツ) As mentioned, nitpicky, but it’s your artistic choice, I don’t really mind. If even more, then add a Vignette for zoom out effect. thumbs up

No, but they are too slow. Makes the entire UI feel less responsive. Make it faster and maybe tone down some text animation,s as some people may find it overwhelming. (For example the animation that plays when you however over something, the text goes from left to right is a bit excessive.)

Yes, it’s pretty useless. BUT, I’m using it to learn SQL and enhance my UI skills.

Yes, it is my own forum that is meant to be like the DevForum and has its own database, and anyone can use it (if they are in my group. Lol).

Maybe I will change this for the topic creator only.

I don’t want to change that. Do you think anything else is excessive?

why the extra steps just to use a forum

Just to avoid spam. There are already rate limits for topic creation and reply creation per category but to be the group you have to be email or phone verified…

TBH much easier than gaining access to the DevForum

Okay, and no.

This UI looks good! Nice job on it! How long did it take to make this UI? I rate it 9/10! I think it has a good amount of UI animations.
