Hi I’m own a studio and it was wonder if it is a good idea if two studios work on some games together
If you trust the other studio, why not?
Depends on a few conditions, I shall list them in bullet point.
-
Effective communication
-Are you able to effectively communicate between studios? -
Trust
-(As mentioned by Badandy11,) can you effectively trust the other studio with your assets? -
Different management styles
-Does the other studio have different management styles compared to your studio? (This could lead to conflicts in development styles, and how many hours employees are worked) -
Activity
-Is the other studio as active as your studio during a workload? -
Skill differences
-Are the developers in the other studio more or less skilled than the ones in your studio?
If you are able to satisfy all of these conditions, I’d recommend partnering with the neighboring studio.
Well the studio is very good but I kinda feel like they are unorganized and me and the owner of that studio are good friends and they are helping me with my game and I’m helping them with theirs but like I said it’s the organization that’s the problem like they don’t plan things they just do it.
What should I do?
It’s not a necessarily bad thing but I can see how there may be competition, distrust and tension in the future.
I don’t see a huge issue with just doing things- you don’t need a huge plan for everything. If they’re accomplishing what needs to be done then that’s fine
Definitely go for it, tell us how it goes.
