It doesn’t matter if it’s the Asset Manager. But the Asset Manager did the most lag spikes. But it’s actually any plugin docked at the left. Not sure.
The Explorer is docked at the right, and doesn’t cause this issue. The Dialog that asks if you want to save a place or not (the new one) is also seems to cause something.
Re-production Steps:
See the Videos and MicroProfiler logs in the Private Message.
Opt-in into the Beta
Open an Empty Baseplate
CTRL + SHIFT + F6 for the MicroProfiler in Studio
Compare no plugins open on the side (New Explorer, is fine and “Find in Place”, is fine)
Compare with Toolbox and Asset Manager open
Alt tab, and re-try again
Expected Result
No lag spikes?
Actual Result
For some reason there are lag spikes. Even in Play Test with the same re-production behavior.
If I start a recording with OBS on Roblox Studio and stop the recording and then close OBS, the lag spikes go away while the plugins are still open, which is strange.
The same goes for if certain Plugins are re-loaded.
But the lag spikes come back again after alt tabbing.
But if I don’t have any sidebars open on the left, there are no lag spikes.
Hello!
It looks like you’re running at a much lower than expected framerate overall, is that correct?
(30fps from the look of things)
One thing to try is disabling gsync on the monitor that Roblox Studio is running on. We’ve had some cases in the past of certain monitor and driver combinations and gsync causing studio to want to sync to a lower FPS than expected. All of your time being spent in “Present” is a good clue this might be the case here.
Please give disabling gsync a shot (if it’s enabled!) and let us know the results?
Only, if Toolbox, Asset Manager or Tag Editor are docked. Sometimes when alt-tabbing back in while these 3 being closed will cause no spikes anymore, when opening them again.
But when re-alt tabbing, it may re-appear again.
Sometimes it happens again when opening one of these 3 again. And sometimes the spikes go away when Google Chrome is re-opened.
I don’t think which of these 3 plugins it happens on matters. For some reason the Explorer seems to be not affected by this?
I don’t recall if Find/Replace All caused issues as well.
This device only has the Integrated Graphics from Intel.
