Doors Inspired Game Entities FeedBack!

Hiya! Me and my friends are making a Doors/Pressure/Grace inspired game, called RUINS OF DECEPTION, and we’d like some feedback on some of the entity designs. 90% of the entities are made by my friend, @Wolfe6371, who is the main owner of the game. Please tell us what you think of these entities, but also keep in mind that absolutely all of these are temporary models and will be remodeled in the final release (which won’t be for a while).

Entity Names (In order):
Orb (Main villain)
Null (Very important to the lore, but isn’t quite the villain)
Deceiver
Blush
Bob the Slime (lol)
Faker
Mosser
Stalker
Disappointment
Masticate
Tidbit
Sorrow
Kataskopos

Small note: Orb is supposed to have tentacles, we just haven’t done that yet.

Is your game unique in any way? Current Roblox isn’t exactly a place where I’d say doors inspired games prosper. It’s just been so long.

As for the enemies, they look pretty good! There’s a lot of them, I really hope players won’t have to master every function :sob:

While we are still figuring the gameplay out (we all have different views for the game), we do have a pretty solid concept worked out. There will probably be different classes with different perks, as well as a sprinting and jumping system. The gameplay is definitely going to be faster than Doors, but slower than Grace. My goal is to make this game as unique as possible, and make sure my friend doesn’t end up putting a Search Lights knockoff in the game lol.

Uh, this is just the beginning… there’s so many others… but they will be spread across chapters, so the player shouldnt have to deal with nearly so many entities at once… probably.

Classes and perks sound great! That’s actually pretty new for this genre. As for sprinting and jumping, I’m excited to hear about it as it has a lot of potential.

Okay, across chapters works. :sob:

Yeah, I am aware that Roblox is overrun with useless, unoriginal Doors copy’s. Which is why my goal for this game is to make it as unique as possible, with different classes for the players, a different movement system (jumping and sprinting), and a VERY unique storyline.

But anyways, what did you not like about the designs? I’ll be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of most of them either, but I wasn’t sure what the problem was with them. And yes, I am aware that masticate and tidbit are direct knockoffs of Grumble and Giggle, but my friend will not let me take it out of the game…

What? No! Absolutely not! Wait… hmmm… we’ll see….

Doesn’t necesarily change how unique it is by much.

Other doorslike games have already done this.

All storylines are expected to be unique. Storylines don’t really interact with gameplay that much (unless you’re limbus company I guess) so this doesn’t really change how unique your game is

What is it with devforum and brainrot recently :sob::sob::sob:

The creatures look very cute and hilarious. Nice work on them!

I only liked the one in the 10th image (Masticate?) because IMO all of the other ones are too simple/generic

I get what you’re saying, but take a look at pressure. It literally has the same exact gameplay as Doors, but succeeded due to its randomness, art style, entities, and other stuff. So the game doesn’t need to be THAT unique to succeed, but I still want it to be. No matter what, it’s still going to have the same gameplay of opening doors, but we’re putting our own twist on it with the classes and movement. Yes, grace has sprinting and jumping, but in this game it will work much differently. And the classes may not sound that crazy, but it will create lots of opportunity to strategize, mainly if you’re in a group. Different classes will have different roles, so each player could have different ways to help their team (or possibly even sabotage them). And the storyline? Yeah, it’s definitely going to affect the gameplay, at least more than pressure’s story does. There’s a reason the game’s called Ruins of Deception.

If you have any suggestions, though, please let me know! I want to know how to make the game truly good, because it’s certainly not perfect.

Pressure has 2.9K players, while doors has 12k (which is probably due to the fact that they actually added a queue for their best mode (ranked) which got removed for literally no reason)

The chances of you (or me, or anyone with the sole exception of jandel) getting any higher than a quarter of that player range is slim, especially more so because your target audience is already playing doors/pressure, so you DO need to be that unique to succeed.

Other than that, anything else I would have to say would probably require me to comment on classes or mechanics, so I’d have to seehow the game actually plays, I’m just gonna let this play out until release lol

first two look quite cool but the third one is overdetailed imo, it could use some work

That type of stuff tends to look better in-game
