ive tried to make a pseudo dual render with viewport frames, so i could recreate that split screen effect, but in result, even with very optimised code, its still dropping the game performance. and also viewport frames have some limitations as it doesnt support lighting effects, shadows and it has limited part count.
By implementing dual render support, we can do insane game effects or features that can engange the replayability of our games.
YES. We need this, it can help make so many things, especially portals.
Currently the way to make portals in roblox is to use viewport frames, which are pretty limited in terms of lighting, getting rid of the illusion in most cases.
Replicating events that happen in workspace to it is quite complicated to do and may not be optimized well.
They’ve done this before for a hack week project in 2018, surely it can be done again in the current day engine.
