Dynamic Head Conversion Causes Limited Face Duplication During Trades

After the migration of Classic Faces to Dynamic Heads, there are collectible faces (e.g. Red Glowing Eyes) that appear to exist in two forms, just like every other collectible face, since Roblox is rolling out Dynamic Heads.

When trading these items, the system behaves incorrectly.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Own a collectible face that has been converted into a Dynamic Head (example: Red Glowing Eyes)
  2. Trade someone involving this item
  3. Include the face in the trade and complete it
  4. Observe both accounts after the trade completes

Actual result:

  • receiver obtains the Dynamic Head version
  • sender retains the original classic limited face
  • collectible is effectively split into two representations:
    • Classic limited (asset)
    • Dynamic Head (bundle)

Expected behavior

  • The item should transfer fully and consistently
  • The sender should no longer own any version of the item after trading
  • The receiver should obtain the correct singular ownership representation (whether classic or dynamic)

With the conversion of Classic Faces to Dynamic Heads, only the Dynamic Head versions are tradable, and it is expected that ownership of the Classic Faces is not transferred when ownership of the Dynamic Head versions changes.

Classic Faces should not have been able to be included in the initial trade requests following the conversion, but we’ve sinced fixed this.

Going forward, ownership of the collectible is solely tied to ownership of the Dynamic Head.
