Dynamic heads bypass transparency rules to simulate headless

The dynamic head called Glass Half Head (created by “Páin”) is exploiting thin geometry to bypass Roblox’s transparency validation system. Instead of being a properly visible dynamic head, it is modelled thin along the back and under so that it simulates an invisible “headless” effect when worn with hair.

This is just one example of many which I will link in the staff only message.

This item is effectively a fake Headless Head replacement:

  • Pricing Impact: Roblox officially sells the Headless Horseman bundle (with the Headless Head) for 31,000 Robux each October, and it is one of the platform’s largest annual revenue drivers. This imitation only costs 75 Robux, massively undercutting official sales. Players can now bypass buying the legitimate bundle.
  • Rule Bypass: The validation system is supposed to block heads that are invisible or too transparent. By using near-flat, thin geometry, this head avoids detection while still functioning as “headless” in-game. This undermines Roblox’s intended moderation and catalog integrity.
  • Gameplay Issues: In many games, characters using this head appear as if they have no head, which can break immersion and cause issues with avatar readability. Some games rely on head visibility for mechanics (e.g., aiming or hitbox clarity), and this fake headless design circumvents that.
  • Unfair Market Competition: This head creates a black-market style “rip-off” alternative that damages both Roblox’s revenue and the fairness of the avatar economy.

Expected behaviour

Dynamic heads should not be able to exploit thin geometry to bypass transparency validation. Any accessory or head that utilizes this bypass should fail moderation.

As a creator, skinning, modeling and caging Dynamic Heads with proper FACS animations, these are frustrating to try and compete with in the market, and Roblox allowing these heads is killing actual creators that put time and effort into items.

There is no reason that these items should be allowed if Roblox is trying to put actual creators first. These are lazy, low effort heads that exploit loopholes to be uploaded and spammed around the website with no actual effort put into them.

very very annoying that people who can model and make good head’s get undershadowed by people who mass upload these things. (some are even verified!)
