Dynamic Price Floor is completely broken

Items (specifically accessories) used to correctly rise or lower in price every 24 hours, now they’ve been hard-stuck at 95 robux for a couple of months now and seemingly has not changed at all, this creates an issue where people are going to have to end up spending more robux, and UGC creators are unable to make accessories cheaper than 95 robux because of this. See down below:

Expected behavior

These items are supposed to alternate in price every 24 hours. If this system is planned on being removed/scrapped, then the items should be all reverted to their original prices.

Alternate Proposed Solution: Set the price floor to just 15 robux and remove the dynamic price flooring entirely. This update was not liked by anybody to begin with. I understand Roblox has an obligation to appease investors but that shouldn’t come to the detriment of the user.

It should be noted that this is site-wide behavior and affects absolutely everybody! People on average now have to spend more because of this system not working correctly.

Thank you for the report. We have assigned to our team for further review.

Since they launched regional pricing for avatar items earlier this year, the dynamic price floors are no longer in effect.

Then the items should be reverted back to their original prices. There is no point in having them stay 95 robux.

Seems a bit odd from Roblox as the thread you’ve linked doesn’t actually say anything about that feature replacing the dynamic price floor system with region specific pricing. I love zero transparency!

The question I’m wondering about is, how do we know that 15 Robux is the “original price,” and isn’t that amount extremely low for any creator, considering that 3D marketplace item creators only get a 30% share when they sell at the floor price? So I didn’t really understand this general retrospective argument of yours, this would actually be a harmful change for everyone. I hope it doesn’t happen, because from a corporate perspective, you could reasonably say that it’s an expectation with no solid foundation. Moreover, regional pricing will also come into play, so for marketplace creators, there’s really no feasible way to even consider this.

Dynamic price ranges are still mentioned specifically in the Creator Hub here (Publish to Marketplace | Documentation - Roblox Creator Hub). If dynamic price ranges are no longer in use, the documentation could be updated accordingly.

Minimum prices (that is, what you’re calling the price floor) can still change, according to what’s written out there. If we’re not sure that Roblox will never make changes, I’m not exactly sure what change we’re expecting here.

In my theory, Roblox simply sunset the dynamic price range because they had been continuously experimenting with prices through long-term statistical analyses, adjusting them parabolically until they found the optimal point that maximized both profit and user numbers. This process had been ongoing for a long time, and the prices we see now are finalized.

I don’t see much connection with regional pricing, but to avoid messing up percentages too much, they’ll probably just stick to fixed prices or prices that remain the same unless absolutely necessary.

Nobody said that is the original price. I don’t know where you’re even seeing this. I stated that the price floor should just be set to 15 as it was the lowest price you could set it to previous before the price floor update was introduced. Nobody stated that all these 95 robux items were 15 robux.

Oh sorry, I didn’t know a change where allowing the lowest amount of 15 robux is gonna harm “everyone”. What a ridiculous reply for the sake of being contrarian considering the fact it was like this previously and there was zero issue whatsoever.

I get what you’re saying, but this whole situation really only affects creators at the end of the day. A price floor just limits flexibility, especially when some items simply don’t need one at all. Not every accessory or asset has the same level of demand or perceived value, so forcing a minimum price across the board actually hurts creators more than it helps.

For certain items, especially lower-effort ones that attempt to trick players, there’s no real reason they should be locked behind a mandatory price floor. Giving Roblox the freedom to set the price at 15 Robux makes sense and would make the catalog healthier over all.

Thank you for reiterating that this issue only affects creators, non creators don’t usually tend to understand things like this as we can see which is expected. I am having an issue like this but it is only applying to waist accessories, one of the accessories I uploaded follows the dynamic price floor scheme but the rest are hard stuck on 75 robux since published, they are getting sales regardless but I do not like the fact that they’re priced higher than competitors.

What do you suggest that would be a fair solution? Do you agree with Stream’s approach or propose something else entirely?

I wouldn’t say this is just affecting only UGC creators, as the OP has stated:

Robloxians now have to spend much more money on average when previously, things were much more affordable.

Unsure of what your question is? I am here because of the dynamic price floor leaving ugc prices in a “stuck” price position, I do not have an opinion on the reversion of the dynamic price floor completely, that’s an entirely different issue and not the issue I am currently facing.

My comment isn’t a claim that only UGC creators are experiencing this, my comment was in reference to the “creator” that rotasian was replying to. The image he shared is pretty self explanatory if you cross check between it and the user he commented towards.
Anyways on topic, the dynamic price floor is already unreasonably high, so having it in a stuck position can affect roblox users negatively, adding to the fact that I am experiencing myself a “stuck” price for my ugc some sort of fix or explanation for this from roblox part would be delightful.

Ohhhh, okay. That makes more sense.

Update: I cannot tell if this is because of regional pricing, or if they actually fixed this feature.

It seems like UGC creators are still stuck at 95 robux, so I’m assuming this is just regional pricing.

I think Roblox might be making another adjustment here. Can other marketplace item creators confirm this? Since Roblox is selling some of my items at a lower price even though both are in the same condition and at the same floor price. I’ve seen a lot of examples like this on the dashboard, but I’ll drop one below:

If it were related to regional pricing, then I would see all of them at a discounted price but that’s not the case, only a select few have a lower price.

I noticed this was randomly marked as “closed” and there was never actually any official explanation to this. I would really appreciate an official response. @starhiker13

I am very against the dynamic price floor but if Roblox is gonna have one, at least make it….ya know…..dynamic? We are literally spending $1+ USD per hat (not much, but still)
