Dynamic Resolution Scaling triggers unexpectedly when resizing the game window (zdrsexperimentjuly22)

I appear to have been enrolled into the experimental Roblox build channel “zdrsexperimentjuly22”, which seems to be testing Dynamic Resolution Scaling (DRS).

Since being placed into this channel, I’ve noticed unexpected behaviour related to Dynamic Resolution Scaling when resizing the Roblox game window or switching to fullscreen.

This happens consistently when the game window reaches certain resolutions while being resized. Dynamic Resolution Scaling appears to activate unexpectedly at specific window dimensions, even if the change is only by a pixel or two. Once triggered, the game’s internal rendering resolution drops significantly, making the image appear blurry. Since entering fullscreen also triggers this behaviour, fullscreen becomes effectively unusable.

To verify this wasn’t intended behaviour, I tested the exact same game on a different Roblox account running the current live build, which is not enrolled in the “zdrsexperimentjuly22” experiment. On that account, resizing the window or entering fullscreen does not trigger this issue, and the game maintains the expected rendering resolution.

Expected behavior

Dynamic Resolution Scaling should only activate when intended and should not unexpectedly reduce the rendering resolution at certain window sizes or in fullscreen. Additionally, users should have the option to enable or disable this feature rather than having it enabled automatically, allowing them to choose whether they want to use it based on their hardware and preferences.
