As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to consistently handle Right-of-erasure-requests. Not only that, but our entire inboxes are typically completely flooded with these messages.
If Roblox were to add a separate tab in the creator hub specifically for Right of erasure requests, perhaps containing a list of UserId’s and GameId’s that the users data has to be removed from, we would be able to quickly go through the list rather than sifting through countless messages. This would also free up the message inbox on the website.
The list could also be game specific, just adding a tab under the configure section of the analytics.
(Around here)
to get the webhooks go into the Roblox Creator Hub, click on your username/avatar on the top right, Settings → Webhooks → Create Webhook → Compliance → Right to Erasure Request
the documentation I provided does include a Javascript code example for handling a webhook, you just have to implement DataStore APIs to delete information from your games
I know the deletion of the data must be handled by the user since data keys can be many different things, but I still think there should be a dedicated section on the creator hub for them instead of flooding your inbox.
I totally did not write my entire topic before I was made aware of this similar post. I know that the staff reads these feature-requests, and hope we can get some updated information soon
As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to deal with Right To Erasure (RTE) requests.
The current message system leads to my inbox being full of Right to Erasure (RTE) requests.
It is very annoying to have to go into each one of these messages, find the ID, confirm the affected experience, and manually copy-paste the UserID’s one by one into a list so my script can AutoDelete all associated data.
I am aware of the current “solution” which is to automate it using a Discord bot, but using a webhook message and a third-party platform is NOT ideal. I would like to keep it all “in-house.” The automation is very complicated for a developer to set up. Especially if they are not familiar with webhooks, discord bots, or the Open Cloud API.
I am not concerned about automation but want a way to see all the User ID’s that a specific experience has Right to Erasure requests for.
Just having access to an easy-to-read & comma separated list of the RTE requests located in the Creator Hub under each experience would make it much more manageable. Creators – who mainly use UserID’s as datastore keys anyways – could just paste data into existing datastore key deletion scripts they have. Those who are simply owners of experiences and not themselves developer, could even pass the list on to delegate the task to other members, without having to go into each message and copy the associated UserID and ExperienceID.
