I am reporting a serious issue involving a Roblox group called EasyPOS, which sells multiple products for developers. Every product appears to include a hidden module that automatically blacklists certain users — including me — from any experience that uses the product, even though:
I have not broken any rules in those experiences
The individual game owners are unaware that this module is kicking players
The kick happens automatically when the module loads
This affects multiple unrelated experiences
Concerns:
Can a group/module owner enforce personal bans across unrelated experiences using a product?
Is embedding a hidden blacklist in paid products considered misuse of Roblox developer tools or a violation of TOS?
How should Roblox handle modules that enforce bans without the consent or knowledge of the game owners?
This appears to be targeted harassment via a third-party module and may violate Roblox policies regarding fairness, safety, and misuse of developer tools. I am requesting that Roblox staff or the Developer Relations team review this group and its products for potential abuse.
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, EasyPOS is a paid product, and its scripts are obfuscated, so I cannot share the raw module or code. However, the issue is visible in any experience that has purchased and uses EasyPOS products: players on the blacklist are kicked automatically on join, and game owners themselves are unaware of it. I can provide screenshots or short videos showing the automatic kicks across multiple experiences, which demonstrates the problem clearly without exposing private code.
I could agree more on you for this, but what if the owner doesn’t want anyone (that is blacklisted from easyPOS), from using the products in other games?
love the enthusiasm on this, though it clearly violates Roblox’s community standards, see the following section, found under the Threats, Bullying, and Harassment category:
Blockquote * Singling out a user or group for ridicule, abuse, humiliation, or degradation, either publicly or privately, including as part of a targeted mistreatment campaign
Based on the information provided in this post and the replies made to it, players are being banned from a large number of games for having a conversation on a Discord server, which could likely be considered degradation. Including something in your Terms of Service also does not excuse you from following Roblox rules.
Just correct me if anything here doesn’t make sense or is incorrect.
Unless this is a feature your product advertises as something within the scope of what it should be intended to do, this shouldn’t be forced nor even exist. NO system should have the right to decide who is allowed in a completely unrelated game to it except for Roblox’s own platform-wide moderation unless you explicitly installed that system for its advertised cross-game bans.
Concerning! All of their user data is stored in a public firebase bucket
I Don’t think it should be used
Considering that this system uses a loadstring, it is effectively a game backdoor and therefore should be moderated!
There is a reason Roblox moderates obfuscated scripts! Suspicious
They could easily sell out to a malicious third-party and compromise zillions of games!
