Echofall is a large-scale zombie infection game set in a brutal post-apocalyptic world. Up to 40 players are dropped into a single map where, each round, a handful are randomly chosen to become infected. Their goal is simple: spread the virus and wipe out every last survivor. The rest must band together, using weapons, smart positioning, and environmental tools like turrets, and hold out until the round ends.
The game currently features AI Zombies, AI Soldiers, and random events designed to keep things unpredictable. I’m going for a tone that blends chaotic fun with genuine brutality, somewhere between Criminality Infection and Blackout: Revival’s TFE Mode. That said, I’m the only one who has playtested it so far, which is exactly why I’m here.

The map is designed around variety — different hiding spots, multiple routes, and enough structure to stay engaging without feeling repetitive. One highlight is the Underground Complex, which stays locked and mostly hidden at the start of each round. Occasionally, the so-called “Lab” will open up, giving players access to this secret area.
This is still early Alpha, so bugs and balance issues are expected. Any feedback or bug reports are genuinely appreciated, they’ll directly shape how the game develops.
The inspiration of blackout is definitely apparent with how the map looks, it looks very identical to the original blackout map, and the gas station looks just like the one in blackout revival
The game itself was kind of boring:
the atmosphere, or lighting, felt kind of flat, both day and night
the melee system sucks
the zombies seemed a little lackluster, and the special zombies were just buffed common zombies
nothing to offer in first person, no viewmodel, not even the tool is visible
my gun was bugged on my first round (mossberg)
The game’s balancing was also kind of poo:
money is too much of a problem, by my second round, i could only buy a baton, and on my third, i couldn’t buy anything, i already felt spoiled by the starting 10k i had on my first round
a billion million zombies in the first 10 seconds of the game
There are some things that definitely set this game apart from criminality and blackout, as a zombie game, and those are the only things i found cool
Some things i think you should add:
a starter kit, like crim infection has fists, and blackout final eclipse has the class kit
maybe make zombie count scale on the time and how many players there are, like in blackout final eclipse
a better melee system, more particularly: ragdolling, blocking, dismemberment, and having the tool follow the camera, stuff you’ve seen in crim and blackout
