Engagement campaign getting abnormally low traffic

I just made my experience public and started an Engagement campaign shortly after.

After about 18 hours, it has spent $10.01 for 7.6k impressions and 157 clicks (2.05% CTR), but the game only has around 78 total visits and CCU has basically stayed at 0. That’s already around $0.13 per visit.

I’ve run Engagement ads on other new experiences before while still under the 250 HEP requirement, and they brought in way more traffic almost immediately. This one even sat at only 3 impressions for the first couple hours before it finally started delivering.

Is there currently an issue with Engagement ads, or some kind of limitation/delay for experiences that were just made public? Ads Manager still shows no Plays/Playtime either.

Expected behavior

I’ve paused the campaign for now because at this rate it just feels like I’m wasting money.
I would like to know whether:
This level of delivery is considered normal for Engagement campaigns on brand-new experiences?
Newly public experiences have any temporary limitation or synchronization period before ads deliver normally?
There is currently an issue affecting Engagement campaign traffic quality or delivery?

For comparison, my previous Engagement campaigns had:

  • $47.82 → 66k impressions, 624 plays, $0.076 CPP
  • $60 → 162k impressions, 828 plays, $0.072 CPP
  • $60 → 202k impressions, 1,961 plays, $0.030 CPP
  • Current: $10.01 → 7.6k impressions, 157 clicks, 2.05% CTR, only around 78 total visits so far (~$0.128 per visit at best)

Ads Manager still hasn’t reported the actual Plays/CPP for the current campaign.

Thank you for the report. We have assigned this to our team for review.

I’m confused. The devforum doesn’t have any advertising functionality.

Heyo

It’s probably because you reported this as a developer forum bug (Forum Help > Forum Bugs instead of Bug Reports > Creator Hub (create.roblox.com) Bugs to not be confused). You can see all bug report categories and the purpose of it under the bug report wizard (https://devforum.roblox.com/w/bug-report)

For this particular case, it probably should’ve been under:

But it should be fine this time since it does seem the right team has seen it, but for the future it’s probably best to select the right category

Hope that helps

i get it. thx for taking time to explain that i posted in the wrong category.

but thats not really what happened.

he deleted his previous reply. in that one, he asked why i was getting paid for posting on the forum, im like: huh??? so i replied that i wasnt, i was talking about the ads i ran for my game.

i thought i explained that clearly enough, but then he deleted that reply and posted a new one saying he was still confused, etc.

idk. if he thought i posted in the wrong category, he couldve just said that directly like you did.

also, seeing a programmer title while he seemed confused about how basic game ads works was honestly what confused me the most. i was like, wth.

Hi wowgrapes, your campaign behavior is completely normal and no systems are broken. We suggest letting the campaign run continuously for a few days to allow performance to stabilize and your data to fully update. Let us know if you have any other questions.

yeah this is normal traffic
the sample size is just pathetically tiny

imo it’s always worth just paying for the 100k review as it’ll get refunded later

…maybe my other game just had a stronger hook for ad traffic… It shouldn’t be used as the baseline i guess…

i forgot the stats were delayed too, cause the numbers for this ad dont look that crazy anymore. but seeing $1.377 CPP earlier honestly scared me a bit. at least ir down to 0.060 CCP now.
