Each of these issues is extremely annoying, and have been posted here occasionally, yet have never been followed up on. I am making this easy for the site team and am giving them something to work on that won’t make people smash their faces in for a change. Contains feature requests as well as “fix this bug” requests.
[size=4]1: Unable to delete universe places created through AssetService[/size]
[size=4]2: Unable to re-organize places without making all of the previous inactive[/size]
[size=4]3: Setting a place as a “Start place” in a universe and trying to make it active still gives the error message “This place must be a Start Place to become active” for about an hour until you can actually make it active[/size]
[size=4]4: No “Back” button on configuration pages. There is a “back” button on clothing configuration, but that takes you to the clothing’s page instead of the develop page, and place/universes don’t have a back button period. It’s extremely annoying to have to Develop>Games every single time I’m trying to edit another universe[/size]
[size=4]5: Instead of displaying the error “This place must be a start place to become active” if the place isn’t in any universe, set it as the start place of an empty, or new, universe.[/size]
[size=4]6: Rename “Game” to “Universe” – there is absolutely no reason for it to be named “Game”. By naming it as such, people are unnecessarily confused whenever someone is referring to a place or a universe.[/size]
I’m a big fan of #2 there. A loooong time ago, you could drag-and-drop your places how you wanted them. It was a kinda hidden “build” page or something. Ever since they got rid of that, the drag-and-drop has not been there, but really needs to come back.
As developers, we can all call them universes and know exactly what they are because it’s a technical term that describes a feature. For the users, however, “universe” is misleading. The users don’t think of the same thing we do when they read universe. They think of space and galaxies, which is super misleading for non-space games.
