When attempting to purchase a Roblox Plus subscription using account credit obtained from a Roblox gift card redeemed through Redeem Roblox Gift Cards and Codes, the purchase fails due to what appears to be a currency mismatch.
My account uses euro as its currency, but the Plus subscription prices displayed on the redemption page are shown in USD. Accounts using EUR should likely display prices in euro or correctly handle the currency conversion when making purchases.
The available subscription options show these prices:
- 3 months Plus: $11.99 USD
- 6 months Plus: $22.99 USD
- 12 months Plus: $42.99 USD
This may be causing the system to fail when attempting to complete the purchase. After clicking the “Subscribe” button, a red banner appears at the top saying:
“Something went wrong! Please try again later.”
The subscription cannot be purchased even though the account balance should be sufficient. My account currently has €25.16 in credit, which should be enough to purchase at least the 3-month subscription.
Steps to reproduce:
- Log into a Roblox account that uses a currency other than USD.
- Redeem a Roblox gift card through https://www.roblox.com/redeem. (Roblox Codes page)
- Make sure the account has enough balance to purchase a Plus subscription.
- On the same page where the gift card was redeemed, click the “Get Plus” button.
- Select any available subscription plan (3 months, 6 months, or 12 months).
- Click the “Subscribe” button.
- Observe the error message.
Expected behavior:
The system should correctly detect the account’s currency and display Plus subscription prices in euro when the account uses euro as its currency. The purchase process should properly convert or handle the currency difference and allow the user to complete the purchase if they have enough account credit.
