My friend and I have been developing a sandbox game for a long time. The published build hasn’t been updated in about a year, yet the experience was suddenly suspended for “Discriminatory Content.” The flagged item turned out to be a single image asset taken from the Toolbox, depicting the Nexbot “Obunga” meme. The image itself contains no discriminatory content that we can identify and it’s a widely used, publicly available meme asset found across many other active Roblox experiences without any issue. We offered to remove the asset ourselves so the experience could be restored, but Roblox Trust & Safety marked the case as closed without giving us any further explanation. We submitted two appeals, and both received generic responses that never clarified what specifically violated the Community Standards. What makes this especially frustrating is that the asset has been in the game for almost a year with no changes on our end, the exact same asset is used publicly in other experiences that remain untouched, and even though we’re willing to comply and remove the content, there’s no clear path to actually resolve this since the case is considered “closed.”
Has anyone dealt with something similar: a suspension tied to a single Toolbox asset that’s used elsewhere without penalty?
Thanks in advance for any insight.
