A few times, I’ve seen people using generative AI to post unmodified AI “solutions” in Help and Feedback categories. AI posts are unconstructive and are generally done just to farm stats. Right now, if you find a post obviously generated by ChatGPT and flag it, the moderators simply ignore the flag.
I believe it would be beneficial to explicitly ban posts created by AI in the support categories because if the OP wanted an AI reply they would have just asked an AI directly. Personally, If I’m asking for support, I’d want it to come from somebody who knows what they’re doing, not somebody who is simply just asking an AI and copying the reply.
the post linked is private, checking the url it is a mod dm link, youd need to send images, though unsure if that is against any roles for privacy, so it would be fine to just remove it
As for the post, i agree, the ai copy and paste is annoying, doesnt help, and is often wrong, especially with programming questions, as itll confuse lua and luau, both differ in some ways but it doesnt know that.
from what ive seen, ai responses are usually right, thats just my experiences though
whos to say they didnt? or maybe they just didnt think of it. I doubt most people are specifically deciding weather they want a ai answer or not. I would say thar most people just want a solution
morals? thats kinda dramatic for a scripting question.. most people just want something that works, theyre not going to care who it was or wasnt made by.
nobodys turning down a working fix like “oh no, this ones from a robot, better stay broken”
if people want a answer from a AI, they would ask a AI, if they want a answer from a human, they would ask the devforum, do people from type 2 want what people from type 1 want?
also if the AI gets the solution wrong, OP can’t ask it for help because it will get the solution wrong again and again and will be overly confident in its wrongness, unlike a human (who didn’t test the solution before posting for some reason) will try to fix it
This is just generic AI hate and it’s probably not happening.
People ask questions to get answers. If they get a working answer, then the forum served its purpose. Everyone is happy. Simply don’t look at the AI Text if it scares you.
