So I know that you are not able to size explosions (the particle size) down or up, people talked about it a bit here Change size of explosion particles. But I need to make a smaller version of one of the explosions Roblox made for a TDS (Tower Defense) game I am working on. I have tried to make my own particles and I just can’t get it right. Does anyone have any tips for me?
You can find the PNGs you want in Roblox’s Files
For Example, the Classic Particle Emitter descends it’s png from the Roblox Files(named rbxasset://textures/particles/sparkles_main.dds), you can do this to other classic roblox textures aswell.
Here’s a few ones i found:
rbxasset://textures/particles/explosion01_core_main.dds
rbxasset://textures/particles/rbxasset://textures/particles/explosion01_core_main.dds
rbxasset://textures/particles/rbxasset://textures/particles/explosion01_shockwave_main.dds
If you paste these to any Texture property you will be able to get them
To find more, you can Right Click on your Roblox Shortcut then use Go to File Location, if you then Go to content, then textures you will find a lot of Classic Roblox Textures
Do you know how to emit the particles in a way similar to the explosion?
I can’t really get better than this ![]()
Use WireFrame rendering and try to reverse engineer it’s looks
I’d use parts for particles that fly off from the explosion, it gives it a more 3d look. Same for the intial explosion too. You gotta know some scripting and CFrames to do that though.
I decided to just create a sphere to look like an explosion and I messed around with it for a while and now it looks good.
I looked at what you said and it seemed to work but it is not what I used so I will just put yours as the solution for any future readers of this post
