exporting the mesh from blender:
select ur mesh, click file → export → FBX.
export settings:
- enable selected objects.
- set scale to 0.01.
saving export settings as a preset:
after tweaking the settings, click the + to make a preset. it’s handy so u don’t have to change the settings every time u export. when u need the preset just click the operator presets button and choose your preset.
importing meshes into roblox studio:
click view → asset manager → upload.
perfect! now u don’t have to resize anything every time u import meshes. :3
EXTRA TIPS:
i usually use a rig to proportion stuff properly in blender !
changing the X, Y and Z dimensions of a mesh:
press N on your keyboard to bring up the transform menu. u might have dimensions like this on your mesh which can be annoying sometimes.
i prefer it to be like a fixed number so i can move it without complications in roblox studio. so just change the dimensions.
for example:
X: 1,
Y: 0.2,
Z: 4.
measuring the size of your mesh:
you might want to measure the size of a blade on a sword. in my case i want to check that the width of the bottom of my fence is 10. click the measure tool.
hold CTRL + left click from point to point
it’s exactly 10, perfect.
