[Update] June 30, 2026
Hello Creators,
We have a number of exciting updates for you around Extended Services — an option for those with very large experiences who are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible on the platform to purchase and obtain additional service usage beyond the platform limit.
We want to start by sharing some community wins. First off, more than 2.2M creators have used Data Stores Manager since launch. Thank you for your enthusiasm for this product. We are committed to continuously improving it with new features and use case enablement. Second, by identifying stale data with the Data Stores Manager, the community has cleaned up 207.5 TB+ of data - this is resourcing that goes straight back into the community!
Data Stores Storage & Access
Back in April, we announced plans for new Data Stores Access and Storage limits. These new limits will start in April, 2026. As mentioned prior, very few experiences are forecasted to hit this limit; out of 55 million experiences, less than 30 would hit the limit if it was active today.
To help you understand if you are approaching the new storage limits, today, we are launching Data Stores Storage notifications that will warn you at the 60%, 80%, 90%, and 100% consumption thresholds. Once consumption surpasses 100%, you will be able to see estimated costs in the Data Stores Manager. The notifications are automatically enabled and do not require Extended Services to be active.
Today, we are also launching the ability to delete data as well as revert in Data Stores Manager (documentation here). Additionally, you may process your data at scale with the Data Stores Batch Processor (announced earlier here).
Lastly, Extended Services for Data Stores Access & Storage will be coming early next year before the new limits activate in April 2026. Pricing details can be found here.
So, what should you do?
- If you are receiving high-usage notifications (e.g. 80%, 90% or 100%), please review the Data Stores Storage Optimization guide to learn best practices on how to reduce your usage. You will also have an opportunity early next year to enable Extended Services for Data Stores.
- Otherwise, keep tabs on your Data Stores Access & Storage consumption with the Observability dashboard.
Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text
We launched the full release of Text-to-Speech in October and the Speech-to-Text Beta earlier this month, expanding Roblox’s natural language capabilities for creators. To help you monitor your usage of these APIs, we’ve since released observability dashboards for Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text.
Today, we’re excited to announce that Extended Services now supports Text-to-Speech, allowing you to purchase additional usage per minute beyond the existing free limit. Pricing details can be found here. We plan to enable Extended Services support for Speech-to-Text early next year, giving you the same flexibility to scale your voice experiences.
HttpService
HttpService Observability dashboard to help you monitor your HTTP request traffic volume is coming soon in later this month - we will share further information shortly.
Extended Services Country Eligibility
Extended Services has expanded country eligibility to include creators in Italy, Spain, Singapore, Netherlands, and others (view full list here). Eligibility is based on the owner’s country (Account or Group owner), and transferring ownership requires a country eligibility check. Payment and invoicing are in USD. User access to experiences will remain as is.
We are excited to see how the community continues to build and use these new solutions. Please share any feedback - in particular, with details on your existing use cases.
Thank you,
Creator team
