Extreme performance penalty whenever the viewport is not visible

Starting this week, studio performance tanks to like 1 FPS whenever the viewport is not visible. Specifically:

  • In the home page before loading a place file
  • Whenever I tab away from the viewport (e.g. into a script)

This specifically only happens the viewport isn’t visible. Without scripts open, or if I put the viewport to the side so that it stays visible, performance is normal.

Just started happening this week, perhaps a couple days ago. Only happens on my windows PC, my macbook is unaffected.

  • Win 11 Pro
  • i9-13900KF underclocked to 2.8GHz
  • 4090
  • 64GB RAM

Hi, does G-sync disabling fix the problem? Having the script editor open causes severe lag in Studio - #7 by Panwellz

Setting G-Sync to only full screen does fix the issue.

Hi glad the disabling gsync works. Would you share what’s the rendering setting from roblox studio? Our engineers also investigating why studio suddenly requires disabling g-sync, any information will help us to improve the product.

Thank you!

Also I have every beta feature enabled.
