Face Accessory limit boundaries is broken. (3,2,2)

Hello I’m here to report a bug, I was trying to help someone to upload his glasses but Roblox says it’s too big, and I swear the glasses are totally out of the bounds.
Have a look to the file please. I had to resize it to 0.9,0.9,0.9 to pass it moderation which is weird.
It’s an accessory using surfaceappareance.

Expected behavior

These glasses should pass moderation without any problems because I don’t see any invisible flying triangles.

It feels like the real bounds are 1,1,1 I’m not sure.

I can pass the moderation if I set the special mesh to 0.9, 0.9, 0.9, which makes no sense related to the message from the screenshot.

Hi, this is intended behavior as the Attachment you selected (FaceFront) has bounds which your accessory breaks. You should be using FaceCenter for cases such as this, as it has more lenient bounds being the center of the head.

It still doesn’t pass.

Can you send your version? Maybe I did bad because I wrote the “FaceFront” into FaceCenter.

Hi, yes I think the issue may be because you re-named the Attachment instead of redoing it. I’m using an extension (paid) to set accessories up. I’ll attach the version I made (without SurfaceAppearance as you didn’t provide those with the “glass.rbxm” file) Glasses.rbxm (35.8 KB)

Thank you very much for helping, I’ll close this post because I was a bit tired and confused at this time!

Hi @Ryxku , thanks for the report.

I can definitely see the confusion. The current maximum size check makes sure that your accessory fits within the acceptable bounding box, based on your attachment point. You can see here how the back of your glasses just miss this criteria.

We will look into making this more understandable.

Thank you!

Thank you for noticing! Even if it’s my fault! I would recommend to add an extra message in the moderation message errors like “Are you using the wrong Face attachment for this?”

There should definitely be work done for a native UGC uploading panel (that is separate, or built-in to the Publish to Roblox window) that shows you the specific bounds for the attachment selected, extra details (tris count, etc) & UGC limits. I think there is sufficient demand as many UGC creators on Roblox have to resort to plugins such as UGC Maker’s Toolbox (paid)
