Failed to accept transfer request issue when transferring game

Hi,

My friend is trying to transfer his game to my group however I get failed Failed to accept transfer request when I accept it. I do the 2-fa auth and then that happens.

The initiate transfership button is also gone on my friend’s game settings panel. So we cannot initiate another transfership request. We need to get this fixed.

Thanks for the report! We checked the transfer for this game and can confirm it actually completed successfully. That error can show up even when the transfer goes through in the background, which is also why the “initiate transfer” button is gone (the game has already moved to its new owner).

Could you confirm the game now appears under the intended group? To help us dig into the error itself, please share:

  • The game (link or universe ID)
  • The original owner and the destination group you were transferring to
  • The approximate date/time of the attempt

It has not transferred. The game is under the previous’s owner group still.

Around the time I made this post is the date we attempted to transfer.

To unblock this, have your friend cancel the current pending transfer. Once cancelled, they can re-initiate the transfer to your group, and you should then be able to accept it. Let us know if the issue persists!

I got an email that the transfer failed after a week and it allowed us to transfer again and it worked.
