Yesterday my account “kruzzle” got flagged and banned for “scamming” because of a game I’ve had published for over two years. The game in question is literally just a baseplate with a GUI that lets me purchase accessories, game passes, and bundles.
I’m extremely confused how this got flagged, especially after being up for so long with no issues. I assume it was the work of AI, but it feels like a huge overreach. Plenty of other games on the platform use similar systems (like donation games) where players can purchase assets in game.
Getting hit with a strike over something non malicious is extremely frustrating because my account had a good standing prior to the ban, Please fix the AI moderation, Thank you.
Roblox moderation is not good at all, just contact Roblox Support and say it was false. You probably don’t want to just wait as this will get on your permanent record and could affect DevEx in a few years
I’d imagine that the AI would have been quite suspicious of a baseplate with nothing on it but some purchases. A Roblox moderator would be too, since those are usually scam games as well.
Contact support, and in the future, make the game private, or restrict it to a certain rank in the group, assuming that it is part of one.
I believe that this may be due to the fact that when you buy items in a game, you get a small robux share from it, even if the game creator wasn’t the one who made the item.
If I’m correct, the return share is around 10%, so considering that an asset costs 100 Robux, then there’d be a 30 Robux tax for Roblox, 10 Robux for the game owner and the rest would go to the asset creator.
However, according to Wikipedia:
“A scam, or a confidence trick, is an attempt to defraud a person or group after first gaining their trust. Confidence tricks exploit victims using a combination of the victim’s credulity, naivety, compassion, vanity, confidence, irresponsibility, and greed”
This is not a scam. Plus, if this was really that bad of an issue, Roblox is incorrect for allowing you to do this in the first place.
Roblox is a huge company with millions of active people so even if they are in the wrong they won’t listen to you since they get thousands of complaints a day and do not have the time to investigate into every situation.
Most people when they have an issue Roblox will assume it is false and not listen to you, I got falsely terminated for inserting a model named “Kill Part” and I contacted them and they did not give any time to investigate it and see that the issue was their toolbox moderation is low quality and needs to be updated
It was actually a scamming kit so I deleted it without publishing then 20 minutes after I deleted it I got terminated, I messaged Roblox about it and they got mad at me. We included the fact that the toolbox moderation should be better and you should not be able to get banned from inserting a model from there and they just got mad, luckily I got my account back though.
I heard a lot of stories about similar things happening in Team Create. It’s ridiculous that inserting models that you didn’t even make will destroy your account.
Also if you own a group and someone creates a UGC or something in it that is innapropriate the person who made it is fine but the owner will get the termination
