[FEEDBACK] Feedback about location, for my game

Hi guys.
I need your feedback on my first game, it is still in development, I made it for one week.
Strict critique is welcome.

I love the use of Deathrun style terrain in your map, however checkers only look great with a low poly style. (Saber simulator, for example)

The map is a little dark. I’d suggest playing around with the lighting to create a warm environment.

There are many overlapping parts that could be trimmed a bit, an example of this would be displayed on the bottom left of the fourth picture.

Your map could use a little more vegetation. Adding trees would make it seem more like a forest.

Make the paths rounder. At the moment the paths you’ve created are pretty jagged.

There is a huge rope in picture 1. In my opinion this isn’t necessary.

Keep a consistent style throughout your map — you have Deathrun style, mossy rock style (picture 1 on the left), and a low poly checker style — when building a map, it’s important that everything flows and the map keeps a consistent theme.


I really like the addition of bushes and rocks. So far this is a great start. Detail is key. Keep improving!

If it’s going to be used for fps, I recommend adding like obstacles to hide behind from when there’s a shoot out with the players

Everything looks good, especially colour-wise. My only curiosity is the chequerboard pattern on the floor. Although I’m sure a precedent for that must exist somewhere, I personally think it’s the only part of your map letting the rest down.

The map looks good by looking at the images you provided for use you improve the lighting a bit more and possibly add more terrain buildings if possible if this is going to be a fps game I would recommend placing some cover things throughout your map.

Seems a bit too small in my opinion or maybe small isn’t the word if there’s going to be more added to the map. I think its like the check board floor being too open. It would be a huge problem with a game like this but might not be much of a problem in a paintball style game or a fps kinda game.

I would recommend adding some cover to the map a lot it could be a little bit taller and maybe connecting them to the terrain so you can go inside things like container. Adding more cover would be good too. Try to add more cover options to your map.

Overall the map looks good so far, but I think adding more to your map could improve it a lot more.
