I recently created an experience with a friend.
I’ve been trying to find the right music for my game, but I’m not sure if the music I chose is too much.
I’ve received a few comments about some of the vocal parts of the songs being surprising at first, but suiting the environment of the game.
Is the music that I chose too much, or perfect for my game? If you don’t like this music, what music would you recommend (it can be outside of APM music/the Roblox catalog too)?
Adding songs with powerful vocals seems out of place in this game, and I feel like the music itself is too prominent in the player’s ears; it could be turned quieter for more immersion in the game.
The song styles/ genres itself seems out of place as well, considering the wide amounts of cultures and timespans of which the art in the game spans.
I would recommend going with some more classical yet soft music without vocals (String Orchestras would do well here), or just choose a song from Kevin MacLeod’s huge inventory. Either one is bound to fit in the game greater, in my opinion.
I’ve just started listening to the first one, and I might consider using this music in my game! These are great choices! Do you know if these tracks are public domain (I know that most of the songs themselves are, but do you know of anyone who plays the songs, offering royalty-free versions)?
no, sorry. You could try finding a royalty free ones from some trusted websites though. I have visited your game once, and it sure is a work of art (no pun intended). I don’t know if you already added this, but you can put different moods of songs/pieces of music for different kinds of art, for example, Rachmaninoff’s piano concerto number 2, which mirrors Rachmaninoff’s depression, could be played around the part where art depicts struggle and depression. Like art about famine and more
