[Feedback] How is the overall look of my game and how can I improve it?

These are a few screenshots I took of the mainhouse, small isolated house and part of the environment.

I want this to be a polished game and im not really a builder so I tried my best with the assets I have to get something that looks good and probably the hardest part was the lighting.

  • Silhouette & Depth: This lighting is very “crushed.” It looks amazing in screenshots, but you might want to throw in an Atmosphere object with low Density and dark gray/blue Offset. This, in turn, helps to create the silhouettes of trees and buildings against the very dark blue sky.
  • Navigation (The 80/20 Rule): Make sure that there is “sightlines” available for your player at all times. In your staircase and bedroom shots, you might as well put a smudge above black with your Ambient or OutdoorAmbient that will help your characters avoid getting stuck on objects that they can’t see.
  • “Lived-in” Details: To avoid the interior looking like a “grid,” you can turn some of the objects (such as the carpet or the boxes) by a small angle of 2-5 degrees. Imperfections will help the build look more realistic.
  • Lighting Tech: If you aren’t, you should make sure you’re using the Future lighting. That will make the lighting in that lamp and the fireplace much more realistic looking in the wooden textures.

Thanks! I’ll be sure to implement all of the above.
