Feedback Needed for UI Resource

Introduction

Hi, so me and my new partner are currently working on a UI framework (we’re thinking about making it so it’s an open-sourced resource, but me and my partner want to know your opinions. I’ll be adding a polls section in this topic to collect some feedback from you all).

We are also thinking about scripting the UI (minimally or fully is going to be done by us. We’ll probably have it minimally scripted, but then later on if we do small updates to the resource, we may fully script it.

Of course, we’ll allow users to be able to edit the scripts and also a few elements of the UI (not all but few to most of all the UI elements will probably be editable).

UI Images

Here’s some images on how the UIs we’ve designed currently look like:

Music UI:

The UI has not been imported, scaled to fit all devices, or scripted. We have only designed the UIs so far for this resource.

Polls

Okay, now, we’d like to collect your feedback about this resource.

Poll #1

How do you think the UI looks like?

  • O.M.G!! The UI looks sooooooooooooo good! Ahhh! I would LOVE to put this amazing resource in my game!!! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
  • UI looks pretty good! I’d use this framework/resource in my game!
  • UI looks good, but it could use some more work. :ok_hand:

Poll #2

How should the accreditation be for us for the resource?

  • If people want to use the resource, they will have to deal with a watermark on all of the UIs for this resource/framework.
  • Make people just have to add your usernames in the description of their game.
  • Don’t make people credit you guys for the resource and make it so this is optional.

If you have any more feedback on the UI and/or the resource, please let us know by replying to this topic. Thank you and have a great rest of your day.

Just would like to add that any positioning/sizing mistakes will be fixed/redone when the UI gets imported and scaled, but if you’d like to mention these things, you may do so.

Also, here’s another poll:

Poll #3

Should I have the resource open-sourced (free for all to use) or have it for a bit of Robux?

  • Yes, make it at least a bit of Robux since you and your partner are scripting the UI (minimally or fully, we’ll decide on this), and importing + scaling the UI.
  • That’s up to you and your partner.
  • No, don’t make it Robux. Make it free for all to be able to get and use.

0 voters

And one last question… should I make one or two more UIs for this resource or is this good enough?

  • Yeah, I think this is good enough.
  • No, add one or two UIs more to this resource.

Note: We may have to make this resource a bit of Robux if anymore things are necessary. While we do want to hear your opinions on these things everyone, we may end up making our own final decisions and not following the opinions, but it depends.

Thanks again. Have a great rest of your day all.

Alrighty, so, here’s some updates to the UI (quick color changes and a few other things that are quite small and not really noticeable other than colors).

Here’s the new UI images:

Store UI:

Music UI:

And the final 1-2 UIs that I’ll be adding are… an announcements User Interface and (this may be included, but it may not, but it probably will since it is a small UI) a prompt UI.

That’s all for now, but me and my partner may do a few more polishes to the UI before I import and scale the UIs to fit all devices.

Color scheme looks good. Try implementing some sort of text hierarchy. You want your audience to focus on the text input (where you put the music id), and the enter button. It’s hard to do this when all text labels in the frame are the same font size.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll try to do this and see what I can do.

Hey everyone,

So… I haven’t had much time (neither has my partner) to import these UIs + scale them + script them. In the future, perhaps this will be done, but… as of now, we are going to be giving the .png files to y’all to use.

Now, we’ve decided that this UI pack will cost a bit of Robux. We would like to know how much y’all would like us to charge this for. We don’t have a correct price in mind yet, so we’re wondering on what price we should settle on for this UI pack/resource.

Please reply back on your opinions.

Thank you and have a great rest of your day.

P.S. We’re currently deciding on the pricing, and we may actually have a few “deals” and things, so stay tuned. :eyes:

Also, the UIs may look a bit “squished” or “cluttered” to y’all, but it’s because the UIs were all put into just a few artboards lol.

If these UIs were importing and such, proportions and organization would be much more improved. Therefore, that would cost a bit more, because it requires more work and effort for us.

That’s all for now. Stay tuned and have a great rest of your day.

I personally do not 100% like it. I’ll explain why. First of all I’m not a fan of the black and orange colour scheme. I also don’t like it how your just using freely available material icons, at least make it a bit more unique by using your own icons.

I don’t use my icons myself usually, and I’ve tried to make the UIs look cartoony and simplistic. Nothing really special. Thanks for the feedback though.

Ah, and lastly, here’s the other UIs we’ve designed:

I should also mention that your shop should be in a two column system as clicking on the icon I assume currently buys the item. Instead I would have another column where you can see a title, description, price and a buy button.

I agree with this. I wanted to make a UI that… like when you click on a square there with an image, a UI comes up with the pricing and all that info.

I could’ve also done what you mentioned. With that being said, I may do some tweaks with this. Thanks for the suggestion and feedback.

No problem! Feedback helps us improve.

Mhm, I agree. Thanks again!

I feel that the text should have a bit of hierarchy, as seen in Material Design’s Typography.

Everything seems to remain the same size which isn’t good and can make the user uncomfortable as it gets into the users face (or remains very big)

Also, I’d like to comment that you should probably use different fonts instead of the same font for the UI, as it gets a bit too repetitive.

Overall, I think the UI is good but it definitely needs a bit more work.

If you need more fonts, then Google Fonts is the way to go for easy font access.

I do agree, I tend to use the Inter font for a lot of stuff and it could make a good title for the UI.

As for fonts, yes, I agree. Font hierarchy can definitely use some improvement, but therefore, when I usually import my UIs (this applies to my partner too), we use different fonts when we import the UIs onto Roblox. When we import our UIs on Roblox, that’s when we basically polish everything and make everything more polished if necessary.

As for proportions, those things get tweaked as well when imported.

Thanks for the feedback.

Hey everyone,

So we’ve actually changed our minds. This resource will be for free. Since this is our first resource, we thought “why not have this free?” and so, we’re having this resource to be free to all!

I’d just give the zip file with the UI elements (.png files of them) in the zip file. I’d attach it to the community resource post when I do create it.

In the meanwhile, we are doing a few tweaks/polishes to the UIs. Stay tuned… :eyes:

Have a great rest of your day all.
