I recently published a new solo game in my Trap’s Studio group called “Murder Village”. I brought to life a game I’d come up with a few months ago—basically a murder mystery-style game, but set in a medieval setting. I thought the idea was good and that it might be fun.
The process was kind of exhausting, but it worked out in the end. I released it almost two weeks ago as of today, and the game’s stats are pretty bad. I have experience as a developer on Roblox, but it’s hard to get feedback for these kinds of games—which cater to pretty specific niches—when they aren’t big yet.
I understand that some people will think I just made a new skin for an existing game core, but I tried to be different by drawing inspiration from games like Arsenal “MURDER” when it was still public; GMOD Murder was also an inspiration for some of the concepts.
I’ve been running ads since I released this project, the ads did well and I already spent a good amount of robux trying to promote this game so at this point I just want to understand what I did wrong
