Feedback on a new game (2055)

Recently I learned about height maps and colour maps. So, I wanted to play around with those a bit and I ended up generating a pretty impressive map. But, because I’m fairly busy these days with other projects I decided to just throw a few graphical elements in there, and release it as a simple walking sim. Now, I want to know if the game’s any fun, personally, I think its great, but what do you guys think? Is there something I should add? Or is the game good as is? All feedback is welcome.

Current issues:

  • Not enough incentives to explore
  • No way of knowing when you’ve reached something significant
  • Needs a few items to collect, flashlights, binoculars etc.
  • It’s not named correctly, not a simulator
  • Game’s a bit empty
  • Not much variation in gameplay

Uhm I wouldn’t really call it a game, it’s just an empty map. I mean the map is good but there are absolutely no game mechanics at all.

I’m the sorry about responding too hastily, I think your walkspeed should be higher.

On second thought, I think this game would fall more under the exploration category than the simulator category. There should definitely be more guidance though.

I wouldn’t call it fun, but I do like the terrain style and the music choice. I think there should at least be some explicit motivation to walk for so long (unless the point of a walking simulator is that there isn’t one).

The game does have some things to discover and some lore. But, it seems I haven’t made that clear enough in game. That is my bad.

I must not have found any of it then. I wasn’t sure where to go so I picked a direction and walked until it ran out. There didn’t seem to be a defined path.

Yeah, I’m thinking of adding an interact system to certain points of interest to reveal parts of the lore. Also, I’ll also add more of them.

Writing down you guys’ concerns so I can address them later, thanks a bunch for the feedback :grinning:

I love this game.

I mean, love it because I am expecting to find something even though I only found a pit and a puddle. I also like how there is no guide and how simple it is.

That expectation though makes this has potential I think.

EDIT:
Please add more stuff to explore and maybe items you can pick up lying around like a flashlight or telescope.

EDIT 2:

Take what you want from these ideas.

  • alot more ruins/temple/whatever to explore, but keep them spread out.
  • normal jump height
  • Mountainous terrain that is really hard to scale
  • a rope to mess around with and use to swing and climb?
  • much bigger map; I reached the edge by accident
  • caves
  • Rare sphere creatures that roll aimlessly around and chase and eat you if you get close (I really like this one)
  • occasional rain (decreases Humanoid.MaxSlopeAngle)
  • occasional wind (pushes objects and players)

EDIT 3:
just wanna say that you should change the name. “simulator” makes me imagine cash grab grinding games, while this is casual exploration game.

I mean if there is one thing missing from the game is the “Flex” that simulators have
The kids need something to be proud of and grind, so potentially something where you record how many steps a player gets is something that you may want to look into.
Simulators generally have some sort of aspect you can grind and this would fit perfect

Yeah, I’ll rename the game. I wasn’t trying to make this a roblox simulator game.
