Feedback on an upcoming racing game

My friend @Pivotal_Pie currently has visitor permissions on DevForum, so I’m asking for feedback on his behalf on a game I helped him with.

Hey, guys! :waving_hand:

We’d like some feedback on Raggedy Racing, a regular racing game, but with a twist!

Cars have durability that decreases as you crash into inane obstacles, cornering you to winning as fast as possible with the extra variable of safety!

Even if you play the game simply out of curiosity–please don’t keep your feedback to yourself!

This game is in early beta, but we’d appreciate feedback on how exactly to direct the game, especially with regards to UI/UX, replayability, QOL, and general smoothness, but feel free to tell us anything else you notice!

Thank you! :star2:

The driving system is not great, it’s very hard to steer and turn, I suggest you guys rework it a bit. The UI is a bit hard to read and not very consistent, try looking at reference photos when designing UI.

What about the gameplay? Was it enjoyable, etc?

Here are some small things I noticed:

  1. The UI seems unbalanced in the lobby; there’s too much on the right and not enough on the left.
  2. Some of the UI elements are far too big and realistically should only be shown while in-game (for example, the flip vehicle button; there’s no reason for that to be visible in the lobby when I’m not driving). In addition, I’m on a computer, and there isn’t a need for the (I think) mobile buttons.
  3. Steering is nearly impossible. The only way to get some sort of steering is to stop, turn the wheels, then start moving again.
  4. Retro speedway felt a bit too cramped, kept bumping into basically everything because of the issue described in point 3.

That’s about it
