Hi, guys
I made some adjustments to my custom character and would like some feedback. This sculpt will be the base for character customization in my game.
*In the story, you play as a deer-inspired humanoid alien.
Both versions show models that include or exclude the deer horns. Which do you think is better for making the alien more appealing to the player while keeping the story?
The horns help with the silhouette and make the design more readable from a distance. Without them, it just looks like a generic humanoid. Hard to say if it is game-ready without seeing the topology or polycount though.
The uncanny feeling usually comes from the eyes or the skin texture being too realistic for the stylized sculpt. If you want it to feel more natural, try adjusting the eye proportions or softening the facial features.
Thank you for the detailed feedback. Earlier, I took the eye proportions of the more human-looking sculpt, removed the realistic skin texture, and kept the more stylized alien look (since the almost human look is too far deep in the uncanny valley slope ).
