Feedback on GFX

Hey there! I’m looking for some feedback on a simple GFX I made of my character. This is my first GFX, so I’m looking to find out how I can improve. All feedback and criticism is accepted. Thank you!

Edit: Background is a free model made by Aviore

It looks good. Maybe work on the back ground lighting it looks pretty simple right now.

Thank you for your feedback! I will take that into mind!

Looks good but some feedbacks:

  • Some kind of sunlight
  • Need better lighting
  • Change up the lighting of the character
  • Move the hands a bit, looks very “blocky”
  • Add some color in the room

Goodluck! :+1:

Thank you so much! I used the hemi setting in Blender to make it appear clearly, but I do see that it would look really cool if I had a source of sunlight shining in on the character!

Sorry if this sounds rude, this is good for your first gfx but in all honesty it looks like an ingame screenshot. You should work on the lightning, the posing or the sitting position of the character seems a bit of in regards of the background chair hes sitting on. Also try adding special effects or editing it in an external photo editing software like paint.net for creating artificial light or shadows.

I like the textures on the chair, they really add a sense of realism to the project. :cactus:

Thank you for your feedback! My next step is to add some effects to it, just to make it look a bit better.

Thanks! However, I did not make the chair. The background is a free model made by Aviore.

But surely you must of picked it to be a background, it’s a good choice. :+1:

Looks pretty good, maybe to make the character’s position look more realistic you could bend the limbs at the middle so they look natural and less stiff-looking. :two_hearts:

For a first GFX, this is not horrible, definitely better than my first one. :stuck_out_tongue:

Some things to work on:

The sitting pose of the character is unnatural, and what is the character looking at? If the character was looking at the camera, I think that would have been better. I would recommend looking into a rig, a rig will help you pose your character better and also let you bend the limbs. PaintRigV3 is a great rig to get started, with many tutorials on YouTube to use it.

Lighting is really flat, I believe you used Eevee as the render engine, if you are using Blender. I recommend looking into HDRIs, or three-point lighting, they will help your lighting be more interesting and let your scene look “more alive”.

For a first GFX, awesome job, although there are many things to work upon.
