Feedback on Horror Game map

I’m making a horror game thats trying to replicate a old style house in the middle of a plains with no connection to the outside. I’m not sure what to add to make it feel scary but not to cozy. Any feedback is appreciated.

The blinding sun here doesn’t help with a horror atmosphere. I recommend toning that down by a lot if you continue the non-night-time vibe.

When I think of horror, I think of darkness, fog, corroded metal, or an abandoned area. Zombies or something to be scared of. Unless it’s psychological horror, in which the traditional art direction wouldn’t really apply.

It’s hard to see the house itself, the windmill adds a nice touch. Maybe some trees, but that look of being in the middle of plains is fine without trees so yeah. A path, water, terrain, fences.. anything I could suggest would take away from that flat look.

Have you seen “1922” horror movie inspired by Stephen King? You can make a building inspired by that movie, although it already looks amazing for a psychological horror game genre. Familiar yet it feels off and lonely.

Even if it is daytime, you should make the map dim for horror game.

Alright I added a path with tire marks and a few birds, I also tweaked the lighting a little bit. The game will be in kinda a VHS tape style, so small details are hard to notice.

It also gets darker when your not looking at the sun

Damn it looks sick, you could add those old cars to the house like this one:

But so far it looks amazing!
