Hey guys, I’m looking for feedback on my block building shooter game Build Dig Fight, specifically how easy to understand the first couple of seconds are, and how to do well at low player counts.
Consider the following questions:
- Do you know what to do in the first couple of seconds?
- Did you get out of the trench?
- Do you know where the enemies might be?
- Do you like the name “Build Dig Fight”?
- How would you handle having a low player count in a team based game? I’m afraid of people trying the game and then leaving when they have no one to fight.
- Do you like the team names being French v German? It’s going to be based off ww1, since its trench warfare.
I’ve added a “waiting for players” state and even have systems in place to let me know if someone is alone in the game. What would you add to help the game do well at a low (or 0) player count?
I’m trying to use sponsoring and ads, but I’m even if alot of people see the ad, alot of people will also see that it has 0 players atm. What would you do?
Here’s the link to the place:

Thanks for reading my post. I’m open to any and all feedback.

Yes, it was pretty intuitive because I’ve played FPS games before AND I’ve played both Ace of Spades and the Roblox clone of Ace of Spades.
I got out of the trench by shooting a grass block with the rifle, allowing me to jump up.
There was someone else in the game, so I saw them and the stuff they built as soon as I left the trench. If we were trying to win, I would probably be sneaky and stay in the trench without building or shooting, then go behind the enemy and flank them. If they were trying the same, we might end up running in circles.
I think the name of the game evokes gameplay that I really like (trench warfare, slowly gaining land against the enemy through tactical and strategic decisions, as well as multiple respawns). But it’s also pretty bland. If you incorporated some more stuff to show that fiction, it might feel a lot less bland. Like historical uniforms, flags, that kind of thing.
A PvE mode e.g. zombie survival or defending against waves of AI enemies. Or an easier solution, some kind of minigame that one or a few players can play to wait for more people.

ThanksRoBama. Yeah I have alot of ideas around juice that will make the game more immersive. Like french/german callouts, an actual model of the infantry.
I was thinking of a shooting gallery for the waiting for players. Fun enemy ai as opponents or targets is harder to deliver.
I didn’t realize there was an existing ace of spades ripoff. It made me realize what game design features I DIDN’T want in the game, like long walk times, many different weapons, the original character looks.
