I am currently working on this new game called Sweet Empire. It is a sandbox type tycoon game. I have a photo of my map. How can I improve my map? What is your feedback?
I would add more details. Including grass, a variety of trees, rocks, a lake or river, a small shop or building. It looks very plain at the moment. I am assuming the theme of the game is related to candy, so maybe color the trees pink and blue, and add gumdrops and peppermints!
No offense but I would say a 2/10 because the fact that you used free models… Sorry. Try to make your own trees and candies. Also, it looks a bit unnatural. Maybe make the ground frosting with sprinkles, and make a chocolate river.
Yeah I suck at modeling so I might hire a builder but I’ll do that tomorrow. Always looking for ways to make my games better edit: only thing I made myself was the gumdrops…
You could definitely switch the “block” ground, into a terrain-based ground.
Then maybe even work on adding in some more details around the bases for the tycoons? Potentially adding in maybe another layer, or even a wedge.
This “platform” boost, will give it a little more dimension when it comes to how it looks and feels. Also, the maps seems very grayscale, is this on purpose? You should definitely also do something on the walls of the map, maybe even turn those into some terrain mountains?
The terrain tool could definitely be turned into your best friend here!
