Feedback on my blender map!

Hi people, I decided to make a lobby using only blender models. This is also my second blender creation. I did download the cabins for free here: Simple House Free 3D Model - .blend - Free3D. Everything else is made by me.

It seems like there is not enough variety in the models, they are all copies of each other. As for the bushes, they are too large in comparison to the cabins, also looking at the cabins they seem to be not as low poly as the map may seem, the logs on the cabins are spherical instead of kind of blocky.

Some additions I would make:

Add paths to connect the cabins
Add a center piece (campfire, fountain, large tree)
Make the cabins different from each other (rug color)
Make the bushes differentt
Add trees, rocks, logs, grass
Add different colors

Just suggestions

They were suppose to be tree’s. But I had to change them.

Alrighty, so I think you have a pretty decent start, but here a few suggestions.

1: This map is very bland. As the user above mentioned there is almost no diversity in color, everything seems like its copy/paste-ish. Which isn’t always a bad thing, but on this type of outdoor map it makes it feel un-natural.

2: The shadows are so dark that it is almost black, try to lighten it up a bit.

3: Smoke coming out of the chimneys are too thick, too “solid” have it trail up a bit higher, drop the output rate, make it less dense, and darken the color, natural smoke is gray rather than white.

I think your design of the rocks and formations are spot on though, really excellent work.

Hopefully this helps.

Try not to make all the materials the same color.

1 way to make the place feel more alive would be, fill in the space around. You can add a creek with paths going alongside it possibly with a bridge and an NPC fishing there, trees around the place, a fountain, many possibilities! Good luck into your further endeavors of Roblox building!

The lobby looks alright, but I would add a little more such as maybe more space, a little more details, also maybe fix the top of the trees and the smoke could be a little better but otherwise it’s alright.

Since this is your second attempt at making something in the blender, I really like it!

The map itself looks very plain and a tad rushed I would try expanding the land so you could add more details to it as of right now it’s quite plain to give your map more life is to make some trees, plants and other vegetation. In the following picture most of the mountains are around the same size, and just looks copy and pasted around. You could possibly add more trees different shapes of mountains and some lakes or ponds if you extend the land more as it looks really small in my opinion.

However, since this is the design you make it looks good I would definitely add some sort of campfire in the middle with some logs and chairs around on the land just to give it more detail to it overall since this is your second attempt at creating models in blender I’ll say this is really neat.

When I tried to scale the mountains, the mountains would scale weird. I just had to find a way to make no gaps in the mountains. They are copy and pasted so that I don’t have to go back and find little gaps. Anyways, thanks for the feedback! :happy2:
