Feedback on my first composition?

This is my first song, I was hoping I could get some feedback on it because I want to write my own songs for my future game someday. Although I have a Clarinet and a keyboard piano at my mom’s house, I made this in Chrome music lab because I couldn’t take my stuff here.

The song is meant to give off a relaxed, yet nostalgic feel. It’s meant to be for a relaxing scene, in the future game, this soundtrack would be the first thing a player would hear when they enter the game.

The composition:

I have 6 questions.

  1. Does the song fit the description?
  2. Does it sound off-tune in some parts?
  3. Does anything need to be added to it?
  4. How much longer should I make it?
  5. Would this composition sound better on a Clarinet or a Keyboard Piano?
  6. Does it sound too similar to another song?

tbh it would feel good if you had a drop in it that makes you feel like you are there to feel it, yes the keyboard and clarinet would be good, no it does not feel like other songs, feels slow, the high 2 end parts.
Would look at a game like absolver or fable 2 if you are looking for either calm or nalstolgic
I will try tuning it up for you

(Idk if its good).

First of all, welcome to the wide world of music composition! You did a pretty good job, I think.

I think the track would be improved significantly if the playing sounded more human. I played around in your software and it doesn’t seem like it really gives you much flexibility in that area. If you can find a way to record your keyboard into your computer, that would be ideal.

If you can’t, it’s no big deal. You’re going to want more specialized music-making software at some point if you really like composing music. Such software allows much greater flexibility and control over the music you produce! I personally use FL Studio for this, but Reaper is one I’d recommend if you’re just starting out because it’s free.

Also, I would add more “space” to the track. This can easily be accomplished with reverb and subtle delays. Also adding more high and low notes would work wonders for your song.

Lastly, I’d try researching chords if you haven’t yet. Knowing how to implement chords will help you tremendously.

So with all that being said, here’s my take on your song. Feel free to study it:

If you want I can send you the midi for it.
