Feedback On My Game Idea

I’ve now been coding now for about two years (not on roblox) and I’ve had this idea to make this game for a while, but its kinda hard to make a 3d game from scratch (no not the programming language scratch) so I decided to try to do it on Roblox Studio and have been learning to do so for the past two months. Today I just became a member of devforum so I want some feedback on my idea for a game

So here’s the idea…
I wanna make futuristic battle-royale themed game. All the maps are gonna be surrounded by domes kinda like this as barriers:
dome-city
All weapons that the player already has will be given at the start and while battling disasters will form like every 3-5 minutes maybe such as (blizzard, zombie apocalypse, or storm). And once you die, you’ll can choose to either leave or respawn as a weak undead creature that the player has obtained. The main point of the game will be to gain the best skins and weapons and other similar stuff for flexing, which will be obtained by opening chests for gold, skins, weapons, titles, etc. Winning matches will award you will trophies (depending on what place you got and the number of kills).

All ideas on how to improve this or better ways to do things will be greatly appreciated.

Hi! I love this idea!

I would like to see if I can help you make this?

Again, amazing idea!

The theme is not unique but do you think gaining the best skins and weapons will be enough to make player stay and come back for more?

Your game idea is clever but you have to also keep in mind that for your game to have a good amount of concurrent players and returning players you have to offer something other games don’t and im afraid ALOT of games on roblox offer the ability to gains skins and weapons depending on the game

survival of the fittest ong

cool idea tho

Okay thank you I’ll keep that in mind. Part of the reason I asked for feedback was because I was looking for something unique to keep the players coming back. If you have any ideas I’d love to hear them.

Thanks. Right now, I’m gonna build on my roblox skills (as I said, I’ve only been coding on roblox for two months) but I’ll definitely keep you in mind if I decide to go through with it.

Do you plan on having team modes such as duo’s, trio’s, etc? If not I would recommend adding that as it could greatly increase players. Another thing, how many players do you plan on having in the dome? I would recommend not having too many players to keep the game on the shorter side.

Yes of course, It would be kinda hard to start a battle royale game without that . Im also think of making a game mode called “Gangs” which would be a best of three 5v5 played on a much smaller map

Will the disasters be in the whole dome, or only in an area? Also, I’m not sure how I feel about the respawning feature, in my opinion, it kinda promotes camping and that can damage the overall gameplay of the game.

About the disasters, I’m not sure yet whether it would affect the whole area or just part of it. I think I’ll have to see what works best when I’m actually making the game. As for the respawning, idk what I was thinking since I wrote that at like 11 at night. I guess I was thinking you could respawn as a very weak (and weaponless) zombie like creature kinda like Zombie Attack

I think it’s a unique idea and if done right, it could make the game much better. The problem with the respawning feature is you want to make people use it, so it has to be good enough, but you don’t want to make too overpowered because it ruins the other player’s time. To get rid of the camping you could add a timer, so if they don’t get a kill or deal enough damage they would die. I also think you make them faster so it’s harder to shoot them; but still, there are lots of other things to take into consideration.

In Summary:

It could make the game more interesting, but if not balanced properly it’s probably not the best idea.

Yea, the hardest part of that will definitely be making it not too OP so its not too hard for remaining players, but good enough that people will still wanna do it. I’ll also probably have it as a quest to level up in the season pass so it provides more incentive to choose to do it.

I’m not sure if you are planning to have XP/levels but if you decide to, you could give the player more XP or more coins.

What I’ll probably do is make so that if you can sneak up on a player, it’ll be strong enough that you can deal some hefty damage and even kill them if they’re low life, but not good enough so they cant full on charge a player and kill them. And yes they’ll get extra XP from it and I guess they’ll get the extra trophies if they can kill any players. I think that should give them enough reason to do so

I was thinking if you killed the player as a zombie, you can take their life and go back to normal. I’m not sure if it’s the best of ideas because it would make the games longer. But it would give the player another reason to respawn.

You should try to focus more on what will keep players in the game for the longest amount of time and if they do leave, what lasting effect you can have on them for them to return.

With a solid foundation like that your game is sure to succeed if executed correctly

That’s not a too bad idea, but if I did that I would have to make it so you could only respawn once otherwise the games would go on without end.

I have a question, what would you do with the trophies? It is purely to flex, or can you get skins if you hit milestones? Also, do you plan on having a zone, like Fortnite and PUBG?

Yes, the trophies are partly to flex since there will be a trophies leaderboard, but the main purpose will be to reach the milestones which will reward you with chests, gems, skins, kill effects, etc. kinda like Brawl Stars if you have ever played it. About the zones, I’m planning to have them, but I’m trying to think of a more creative than the traditional storm. I was thinking about the dome slowly closing in till its just small enough that everyone will have to fight, and maybe it speeds up every time there is a death???

Yeah, that’s a good idea and it really fits the game. I think instead of having it speed every death I think there should be criteria, for example, if there are more than 20 people and 5 minutes have passed, the zone closes in faster until there are 20 people left. It might be better just to keep at the same pace because you don’t want a lot of people in a small zone.
