Over the last few weeks, I’ve been working on a small Roblox game called Moonsmith Orchard . I’d really appreciate it if some of you could give it a try and let me know what you think.
I’m especially looking for honest feedback on what you enjoyed, what could be improved, and any bugs or issues you come across.
Thanks for taking the time to check it out. I really appreciate any feedback!
Put the list of activities in a bullet point list instead of a line of text.
“Harvest fruit, sell it for coins, and grow stronger with every harvest. Buy upgrades, buffs, and helpers, replant your trees, and rebirth to unlock powerful bonuses. As you progress, you’ll be able to harvest more fruit and take on bigger challenges.”
Put these in a list of maybe 5-7ish bullet points (shorter and easier to read is better. People dont want to read about your game, they want to be able to scan the description.)
Game:
Immediately you should move the coin UI and the Upgrades button out of the way of the player leaderboard. A player doesnt want to disable UI just to be able to use your buttons.
Consider adding a tutorial. I am 18yo so I understand quickly that I probably need to click the trees. An 8-11yo may not understand that. Having a short tutorial like arrows pointing to the fruits in a tree and a UI saying “Click to collect” etc will do wonders.
Change the currency in the UI from cash to the coins (or whatever currency you use.)
Thinking more about late game, I don’t want to be clicking till the end. I want a way to employ a worker to do it for me.
I also think having larger fruits be worth more than smaller fruits is a cool concept. I can imagine players looking around the trees for the largest fruit
I think I’ll end off here and hopefully this gives you some sort of direction
Cute game! I pretty much agree with the previous comment, I had similar thoughts. I also think a hover effect on the fruit wouldn’t hurt. Plus, it might be cool to have small ladders next to tall trees so players can climb them. I’d love to hear your thoughts on my game as well, here’s a link to the post: Why do they favorite but dislike? Need deep feedback on Finnish Sauna Survival!
Thank you this is really helpfull, I hadn´t thought of the leaderboard being in the way and that clicking might get boring. I will improve the tutorial aswell.
Thanks I´ve thought about ladders aswell might add those. What do you mean with the hover effect? I will go check your game and do my best to give you feedback aswell.
While PC testing, I noticed that mousing over a fruit needs a hover effect, such as an outline. While not critical for mobile, it’s a necessary quality-of-life feature for mouse users. (Desired logic: Highlight the visual upon mouse.Target; trigger create/enable on enter, and destroy/disable on leave.)
